Fantagio, which is producing Kim Bu-jang, has confirmed it will be scheduled as an SBS Friday-Saturday drama in the second half of 2026.
The comprehensive entertainment corporations Fantagio (Chairman Namgung-gyeon) said on the 11th that the new SBS big-budget Friday-Saturday drama Kim Bu-jang produced by the company is scheduled to air in 2026.
Kim Bu-jang is a drama that depicts the story of middle-aged Kim Bu-jang, who hid his past as a North Korean special agent and lived as an ordinary office worker, experiencing the kidnapping of his daughter, whom he cherishes like his life. Actor So Ji-sub, who showed brilliant action in this year's Netflix drama Gwangjang and received favorable reviews, has confirmed his appearance in the lead role of Kim Bu-jang, increasing anticipation. The original work of Kim Bu-jang is a webtoon of the same name planned by Park Tae-joon Comic Company, which held the No. 1 spot on Naver's Tuesday webtoon for nearly four years during its serialization and became a hot topic.
Fantagio already produced two dramas based on the webtoon of the same name last year, Hwan-sang Yeon-ga and Ham-buro Dae-hae-jwo, which aired on KBS, and by continuing production up to this new SBS Friday-Saturday drama Kim Bu-jang, it has established itself as a comprehensive content company in both name and reality.
Fantagio Chairman Namgung-gyeon said, "Following last year, we are able to present consecutive dramas based on webtoon originals with a high level of completeness," and noted, "We will secure content that has both publicity and artistic value and utilize the know-how we have accumulated to focus on production."
Meanwhile, Fantagio includes a diverse lineup of actors with charms ranging from top stars to mid-career, newcomers and child actors such as Baek Yoon-sik, Cha Eun-woo, Kim Seon-ho, Ong Seong-woo and Lee Sung-kyung, and also represents many musicians such as ASTRO, LUNATE and Lee Chang-seop, and has been actively entering the content production business since 2022.
