aespa, returning with the new mini album "Rich Man", is embarking on full-scale global activities.
aespa will appear on ABC's flagship morning show "Good Morning America", live on the 12th (local time), and will also participate in a recording of Fox TV's popular talk show "Jennifer Hudson Show".
aespa, appearing on "Good Morning America" for the third time following 2022 and 2023, will also appear on the popular program "Jennifer Hudson Show", hosted by world-renowned artist Jennifer Hudson, who has achieved the grand slam at the four major U.S. popular culture awards—the Emmys, the Grammys, the Oscars and the Tonys—where they will perform the new song "Rich Man" and take part in related talk segments.
aespa's sixth mini album "Rich Man", released on the 5th, recorded 1.11 million preorders alone, forecasting a seventh consecutive million-seller, and dominated various global charts, including No. 1 on the iTunes top albums chart in 14 regions worldwide, No. 1 on China's QQ Music overall and EP digital album sales charts, earning "platinum" certification (sales exceeding 1 million yuan), No. 1 on the Trend Peak chart, No. 1 on the overall and Korean music video charts, No. 1 on Kugou Music's digital album sales chart, No. 1 on Tencent Music's K-POP chart, and No. 1 on Japan's AWA real-time rising chart.
The Times also praised the album in a review, saying, "All four members delivered the songs with unwavering confidence, and top-tier songwriting teams kept producing new hooks. From the whistling that runs through the sleek hip-hop track "Drift" to the brilliant and ingenious idea in "Bubble" that uses the toy Bop It! chorus commands 'twist it / turn it / flick it / pull it,' " and added, "There are hints of hyperpop elements in 'To the Girls' and 'Rich Man', but in fact aespa is already an almost invincible presence that doesn't even need such genre measures," awarding the album a top score of 3—the highest ever given in The Times' K-pop album reviews—highlighting aespa's global presence.
Meanwhile, aespa will begin an arena tour of more than 10,000 seats starting in Fukuoka on Oct. 4-5, then Tokyo on Oct. 11-12, Aichi on Oct. 18-19, Tokyo on Nov. 8-9, Bangkok on Nov. 15-16, and Osaka on Nov. 26-27.
