Group WJSN (WJSN) member Dayoung heated up her solo debut with candid and cheerful talk.
Recently Dayoung appeared as a guest on the YouTube channel 'Moonbyulida moonbyul2da' content "Star's moon patrol". On that day, Dayoung spoke with MC Moon Byul of MAMAMOO about various topics and shared that she had been busy preparing for her solo debut.
When Moon Byul, surprised, said of Dayoung's appearance, "Why did you become such a hot girl, you really lost a lot of weight," Dayoung said, "That's right. I think I lost about 12kg, and I took care of the three essentials: exercise, diet, and management," drawing attention. She went on to say that she was about to make her solo comeback and offered an honest impression: "I'm so nervous. Doing it alone makes me feel the weight of being the head of the household, where if it fails it's my fault, and if it succeeds it's my fault, too."
When Moon Byul asked when she began preparing for her solo career, Dayoung replied, "I think I started preparing about three years ago. The music coming out now is what I wanted to do, really the music I love. So for two of those three years, I spent time honing myself so I wouldn't miss opportunities when they came, and the last year was a time I really dedicated myself and poured everything out," suggesting the immense effort behind it.
Dayoung said the album contains three songs and added, "I really wanted to include about 30 songs, but after receiving feedback from many people I chose and chose three songs," heightening anticipation for the new release. In particular, about the title track 'body(바디)' Dayoung said, "When I first received it I could imagine how I would sing this song and how the stage would look," expressing affection for the new song.
Through the following 'ask everything' open chatroom segment, Dayoung communicated directly with fans and shared even more stories. From how to keep up regular exercise to how she manages days without schedules, and plans for tours and fan meetings after solo activities, Dayoung actively answered fans' questions. To fans who felt sorry that recent posts on YouTube and other official social media had all been taken down, she sincerely said, "They weren't deleted, they were archived. I wanted everyone to fully focus on the upcoming album."
Dayoung enjoyed happiness eating her favorite desserts, carrot cake and matcha latte, with Moon Byul. Promising to show an "American Gen Z style" mukbang, Dayoung even demonstrated it herself, displaying a cute and cheerful charm. Later, when she had her fortune read by zodiac signs and heard the interpretation that "if there is a problem that won't be resolved, ask those around you for help," she said, "I was wondering someone would film a challenge for my new song, so I can just ask my unnie (Moon Byul) to do the challenge," responding wittily and keeping the warm atmosphere going.
After all the talk, Dayoung said, "Today feels like a dream. I grew up admiring my unnie, and to appear on a show she hosts and be able to become close with her is such an honor," sharing her feelings.
Meanwhile, Dayoung released her first solo digital single album gonna love me, right? on the 9th and will embark on full-fledged solo debut activities with the title track 'body(바디)'.
