A shocking incident involving U.S. rising singer-songwriter d4vd (real name David Anthony Burk, 20) occurred.
According to local outlet ABC7 iWitness News, on the 8th (local time) a report of a foul odor near 1000 Mansfield Avenue in Los Angeles prompted police to respond. Upon inspection, an unidentified body was found in the front trunk of a towed and impounded Tesla vehicle.
Police confirmed the vehicle had been found abandoned in Hollywood Hills several days earlier and towed, and it was reported that the body had been wrapped in a bag when discovered.
The vehicle was a 2023 Tesla, and the registered owner was identified as singer d4vd from Hempstead, Texas, which caused a stir. A representative for d4vd told NBC Los Angeles that "d4vd, who is currently on tour, has been notified of the incident and is cooperating fully with authorities' investigation."
d4vd is a rising artist who gained recognition with songs such as "Here with Me" and "Romantic Homicide" and is a BMI Pop Award winner. He released his first full-length album, Withered, in April and is currently on a world tour, scheduled to perform in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on the 9th and to appear on a Los Angeles stage later this month.
On the 8th, one day before the incident, he told fans on Instagram that the deluxe version of his full-length album, Withered Deluxe: Marcescence, will be released on Sep. 19.
Police are investigating the identity of the body and the cause of death.
Meanwhile, d4vd toured Korea last year. He performed on Mnet's M Countdown in May and has been called the "trendsetting Gen Z singer-songwriter," collaborating with Stray Kids' Hyunjin among others.
