"K-pop Demon Hunters" is on the verge of becoming the first Netflix title to reach 300 million views.
On the 10th, according to Netflix's official site Tudum, the Netflix film "K-pop Demon Hunters" (abbreviated "Kedehun") recorded a cumulative view count of 291.5 million.
Last week, "Kedehun" recorded a cumulative view count of 266 million, surpassing Netflix original series "Squid Game" season 1 and "Wednesday" season 1 to rank first in cumulative views on Netflix. It added 25.4 million views in the meantime, solidifying its position as the all-time Netflix title with the highest cumulative views.
In particular, through this, "Kedehun" is close to becoming the first Netflix title to surpass 300 million cumulative views. Tudum compares cumulative view counts during the 91 days after release for content released on Netflix to tally the films and shows that users watched the most. In the case of "Kedehun," it was released on June 20 and will be counted through the 19th.
However, "Kedehun"'s momentum on Netflix has stalled. From the 1st to the 7th it fell one spot from No. 1 to No. 2 among movies released on Netflix in the TOP10. Nonetheless, a global syndrome continues around "Kedehun," centered on its OSTs such as "Golden" and "Soda Pop." Attention is focused on "Kedehun"'s final score.
"Kedehun" is an animated film that tells the story of K-pop idol group Huntrix using the power of music to drive out evil spirits and save the world. It has been praised for naturally depicting K-pop, idols and Korean culture. Above all, its OST "Golden" is holding strong on the Billboard main singles chart Hot 100 and receiving great love.
