FNC's rookie band AxMxP announced their ambition to win a 'rookie award' and issued a bold debut statement.
AxMxP held a showcase to commemorate the release of their debut album and first full-length album, AxMxP, and unveiled their debut stage at Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, Bangi-dong, Songpa District, Seoul, starting at 2 p.m. on the 10th. AxMxP declared their goal of winning a 'rookie award' and expressed their ambition to continue the legacy of FNC, the renowned band label.
On the day, AxMxP members said, "We hope you will view us favorably since we prepared diligently," and added, "We have high expectations after preparing for a long time. We will work hard to show great stages in the future."
The members also said, "It is an honor to debut after a long preparation. We look forward to the various projects and events that will unfold," and added, "We feel pressure because we have impressive seniors, but we want to be proud juniors."
AxMxP is a four-member boy band launched by FNC Entertainment, which represents FT Island, CNBLUE and N.Flying, for the first time in 10 years. The group consists of vocalist Ha Yu-jun, guitarist Kim Shin, drummer Crew and bassist Joo-hwan. From their debut album to a full album, they show the confidence and drive of a prepared rookie.
The AxMxP members described the title of being the band FNC releases after 10 years as "too much to bear," but said, "We rehearsed all night and have relied on each other with passion," indicating their efforts toward that goal.
AxMxP, poised to follow in the footsteps of formidable seniors in the boy band lineage, seeks to build its own color through expanded music. Their debut album is filled with a variety of genres from hip-hop to ballad, showcasing this identity.
AxMxP explained, "Our distinction is that, as you can hear from the album, each song has a different message and color. We differentiate ourselves through the spectrum of handling diverse songs and being a band that also tackles hip-hop."
The self-titled debut album AxMxP takes the "emotional storm" theme of a whirlwind of colorful emotions that rush in unexpectedly into the lives of once monochrome teenage boys. Through 10 tracks spanning hip-hop to ballad, they candidly unfold the various emotions and experiences youth faces.
There are three title tracks. The intense hip-hop-based rock track I Did It, the witty and lively punk rock track Shocking Drama, and the lingering, lyrical emotive rock ballad 너는 나를 시인으로 만들어 (Love Poem) together form a triple title-track lineup that maximizes the appeal of AxMxP, a band with prism-like, diverse colors.
너는 나를 시인으로 만들어 (Love Poem) is a lyrical emotive rock ballad that captures the moment when clumsy feelings in front of love eventually become songs and flow out as poetry. Calm acoustic guitar and an emotional piano line build the base, and in the latter part, surging emotions are expressed with electric guitar and restrained drum sounds.
Shocking Drama is a punk rock track led vividly by electric guitar that expresses honesty within an unrestrained rhythm. Rather than a predictable ending, it portrays a love story that unfolds in their own way and conveys the sparkle of unfinished moments with a lively message.
I Did It is a hip-hop-based rock track with an intense electric guitar riff that overwhelms the atmosphere from the intro, supported solidly by trap beats and heavy 808 bass. With an unbridled message of victory and confidence that surpasses one's limits, the song leaves a strong impression and lets listeners feel the essence of the band's sound.
Presenting three title tracks on a full-length debut album shows AxMxP's confidence in their music. AxMxP said, "We needed 10 songs to capture the diverse emotions of a boy. We wanted to take on the challenge of a full-length album." The members asked for anticipation, saying, "When it comes to confidence, it's 100 out of 100."
AxMxP, boasting a long preparation period and excellent skills, has a clear debut goal: the rookie award. AxMxP said, "Winning a rookie award is the goal of our debut activities," and revealed a long-term goal of becoming a band that performs in Korea's largest stadiums.
