The band Stray's keyboardist Im Jae-wook passed away after a long battle with illness.
Stray announced on the 7th through its official account, "Our precious member who filled the stage with us, beloved keyboardist Im Jae-wook hyung, passed away after a long battle with illness."
It added, "All five members who were together at the start of the band gathered today to finish the funeral rites and walk the final path together, and now as we send hyung off we will keep him deep in our hearts," expressing condolences for the deceased.
Even while battling illness, Im Jae-wook gave the team great strength with his bright energy and warm music. The members said, "Jae-wook hyung, who never lost his cheerfulness, please pray that he rests peacefully now in a place without pain," and added, "We will forever remember the times we cried and laughed together and shared music. The melodies and heart hyung left behind will continue to live and breathe in our and the fans' hearts."
Im Jae-wook began his music activities in 2014 with Stray's debut digital single "You Are Gone." Stray plans to proceed with its solo concert "The Stray" scheduled for the 14th as planned.
