DAY6 revealed how they came to debut as a band.
On the Oct. 10 broadcast of tvN's "You Quiz on the Block," the band DAY6, marking their 10th anniversary since debut, appeared as a full group.
Before the "You Quiz" talk began, the members shouted their slogan, "We won't do it well. Let's go have fun," and Seongjin, who created it, said, "When we try to do well, we get very nervous, so let's relax and try. It's like a magical chant I use on myself."
When Yoo Jae-suk said that "the old DAY6 and the current DAY6 are different," DAY6 said, "It still doesn't feel real when we ourselves say something like we're going to go to Gocheok Dome or that we're sold out. When we said we're going to Gocheok Dome, we were like, 'We're going to Gocheok Dome?,' 'We're sold out?'—saying that out loud from our mouths." Hearing this, Dowoon revealed, "But we only say 'we' in the practice room. It's only in places like that," which drew laughter.
DAY6 was the first band created by JYP. When asked, "Did you audition as a band from the start?" Wonpil confessed, "I never thought about it. We liked singing and dreamed of becoming singers, and we didn't think about being in a band."
Young K also recalled, "I danced hard and passed the basic choreography. I even did acrobatics. I said I succeeded at a backflip, and they said, 'Congratulations, but didn't you say you can play guitar?' From that moment, it became a band." Wonpil added, "I did everything too. There's a circular apparatus."
Seongjin, who came from a song festival background, said, "Because I couldn't dance, I became part of a band to highlight the vocals. I danced for three years, and they said, 'He has no dance,'" and added, "I started learning guitar right before debut," revealing that DAY6 was formed because of him.
