Actor Jang Hyun-sung served as master of ceremonies for the 21st Jecheon International Music and Film Festival (JIMFF) closing ceremony, delivering a splendid finale.
The Jecheon International Music and Film Festival, the only international music film festival in Asia marking its 21st year, successfully concluded with the closing ceremony held at Jecheon Arts Center on the 9th. At this closing ceremony, Jang Hyun-sung teamed up with Kim Yoon-joo of Oksang Dalbit to make the finale of the festival even more special.
On the day, Jang Hyun-sung drew on his solid acting experience and his quick-witted hosting skills honed through various broadcasts to display adept emceeing that led to a stable atmosphere at the venue. His dignified hosting, befitting the reputation of an original all-around entertainer, and his characteristically trustworthy voice enriched the festival's closing and added meaning.
Having shown a range of acting colors across the screen, home, and stage, Jang Hyun-sung delivered deep performances in the drama Dear My Friends, Doctors, Doctor Prisoner, VIP, Shuroop, 재벌X형사, and The Art of Negotiation, and left a strong impression with his chameleon-like presence across genres in films such as The Fist and the Monster Swallowed Child, SseSibong, Steel Rain, and The Killers.
He has continued to be active on stage as well, connecting with audiences through various works including the plays Hamlet, Noises Off, Kill Me Now, and the musicals Dear Evan Hansen and Mamma Mia!. He is performing as Sam in the musical Mamma Mia! currently running successfully at LG Arts Center Seoul, and is scheduled to meet audiences through Oct. 25. In addition, he has appeared long-term as a storyteller on SBS Story of the Day When You Bite Your Tail, which has been running since 2021, meeting viewers.
