"Radio Star" actor Shim Hyung-tak revealed the story behind appearing with his son Haru.
The MBC variety show "Radio Star," which aired on the 10th, featured a special titled "Heart is rich dad, body is poor dad" with Kim Soo-yong, Lim Hyung-jun, Shim Hyung-tak, and Kim In-man.
Shim Hyung-tak, who said he is living a second heyday after becoming a father, boasted, "I appeared on "The Return of Superman" and it had the highest ratings for three months. Momentary ratings even exceeded 5%".
He went on to say, "Actually, my wife was very worried about revealing the child. Japanese celebrities rarely reveal their families. But Korean variety shows either reveal families or show real-life activities. Because of that, she didn't understand appearing herself at first."
And on the much-anticipated first broadcast day, Shim Hyung-tak said he was at his wife's parents' home in Japan and revealed, "After a few days in Japan, people recognized Haru. They came to my in-laws' place and took pictures. Then on the plane home, I wasn't seen. They only looked at Haru. They said, 'Haru, Haru.'"
After Haru's appearance was revealed and Kim Guk-jin said, "He looks like he came out of a comic book," Shim Hyung-tak praised the appearance, saying, "First of all, my wife looks like a comic book character."
He added, "I've actually been an actor for 25 years. If I only post my photos on my social media, I don't get likes. If I post pictures of the child, I get tens of thousands of likes," drawing laughter.
