Singer Lee Hyori candidly shared her impressions after opening a yoga studio in Yeonhui-dong.
On the 9th broadcast of MBC FM4U's "A perfect day, Lee Sang-soon" corner "Monthly Lee Hyori," Lee Hyori shared recent news with her husband Lee Sang-soon and revealed the behind-the-scenes story of opening the yoga studio.
Lee Hyori said, "I've been noisy for a month," and laughed, "I ran a yoga studio in Jeju for a long time and it passed quietly. But when I opened in Seoul, the reaction was definitely different."
She, who said classes started last week, said, "I started yesterday and have done it four times through today. It's been a while, so my memory isn't good and I was flustered about what to teach," but added, "The space itself is healing. There are many miscellaneous things at home, but the yoga studio doesn't have those, so it feels like a time to focus."
In particular, Lee Hyori said, "At first reservations were at the level of ticket fighting, so everyone who came was here to see me, and it was awkward to tell them to close their eyes. After it ended, it felt strange to tell them to 'go,'" sharing an honest class review that drew laughter. She added, "The best thing is that people come to see Lee Hyori and discover the charm of yoga, and it would be more rewarding if it becomes an opportunity for them to register at nearby yoga studios."
A pleasant exchange with listeners continued. When a listener asked, "Mr. Sang-soon, you have a yoga instructor at home, so why do you go to learn pilates?" Lee Hyori laughed, "I'm curious about that too." Lee Sang-soon explained, "I did yoga, but it didn't suit me. Pilates suits me."
Lee Hyori has been steadily practicing yoga for more than 10 years and left a strong impression on the public by doing yoga every morning on shows such as Hyori's Bed and Breakfast and Camping Club. The yoga studio's name "Ananda" is a yoga alter ego Lee Hyori created in 2020, a symbolic word she cherished so much she had it tattooed herself.
Meanwhile, Lee Hyori married Lee Sang-soon in 2013, lived in Jeju for more than 10 years, and moved to Seoul last year. The couple attracted attention by purchasing a detached house in Pyeongchang-dong, Jongno District, Seoul, for about 6 billion won in cash.
