Actress Lee Young-ae stirred discussion by sharing an update on her 15-year-old daughter and mentioning the possibility of an idol debut.
On the 8th, Lee Young-ae appeared on the YouTube channel Zzanbro Shin Dong-yeop and said her daughter is very interested in idols and goes to auditions. She said, "My daughter, unlike me, likes idols. I just leave her be," and added, "If I stop her, I hear people say it's 'because of mom.'"
In response to Shin Dong-yeop's remark that it might be because of her fame as a mother known as an ARMY (BTS fandom name), she said, "My daughter also likes TOMORROW X TOGETHER and Boy Next Door, and we recently went to a concert together." She added frankly, "As a mother I have many worries. Children see only the glamorous side of entertainers and don't know the difficult process behind it."
Lee Young-ae's daughter is attending Seonhwa Arts Middle School, majoring in vocal music, and is developing her talents in singing and the arts. Lee Young-ae has previously said, "Among the twin siblings with showbiz talent, the daughter shows more interest and talent."
Lee Young-ae married Korean-American businessman Jeong Ho-young in 2009 and has twin children.
Meanwhile, Lee Young-ae will appear in the KBS 2TV weekend drama Walking On Thin Ice, which premieres on the 20th. The drama tells the story of an ordinary parent, Eunsu (Lee Young-ae), and a mysterious teacher, Lee Kyung (Kim Young-kwang), going into business together.
