Actor Han Seok-kyu revealed his efforts to transform into a "fried chicken shop owner."
On the 8th, an online press conference for tvN's 'The New Boss Project' took place, hosted by Park Kyung-rim, with director Shin Kyung-soo, Han Seok-kyu, Bae Hyun-sung, and Lee Rae in attendance.
The new tvN drama 'The New Boss Project' (written by Ban Ki-ri, directed by Shin Kyung-soo, planned by Studio Dragon, and produced by Doo Frame), which will premiere on September 15 (Monday) at 8:50 p.m., features a mysterious boss who is a former legendary negotiator and current fried chicken shop owner, solving cases and implementing justice while navigating between illegal and legal methods in this dispute resolution hero drama.
Han Seok-kyu, who plays the role of 'The New Boss', a former negotiation expert and current fried chicken shop owner, conveyed his efforts to immerse himself in the chicken shop.
He said with a smile, "First of all, I need to handle the chicken well." He added, "I happen to cook a bit. I think it was because I was the youngest. I helped my mother and tried cutting. So this time, while operating the fried chicken shop, there were no difficulties. I can mimic most things pretty well."
He continued, "A real fried chicken shop owner came to the set, and I learned various things, like how to knead the dough and how to coat the chicken with batter."
In particular, Han Seok-kyu, who has worked in various professional fields, including as a doctor, said with a smile, "I can diagnose people a bit. I've played the role of a king before. I feel like I can do anything." He added, "Yesterday, while filming in Chuncheon, I went to my favorite dakgalbi place. I even grilled chicken there myself, and the owner said, 'You could work here.' I remember laughing a lot."
