'The Wind Blows' has confirmed its premiere on October 11, and Lee Junho has unveiled the poster for 'Romantic 1997,' where he transforms into a youth from that era.
The new tvN Saturday-Sunday drama 'The Wind Blows' (screenplay by Jang Hyun, directed by Lee Na-jung, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by Imaginus, Studio PIC, and Tristudio) depicts the struggles and growth of 'Kang Tae-pung,' a rookie salesman who becomes the president of a trading company with no employees, money, or goods during the 1997 IMF crisis. It is expected to offer warm comfort and courage to someone going through difficult times today through the heartfelt survival stories of ordinary people who did not stop their lives amid the bleak period when it felt like the world had ended due to the crisis that hit Korea.
The poster released on the 8th shines a light on Kang Tae-pung (Lee Junho), who indulged in freedom and wealth in 1997. True to being an icon of youth from that time, his styled hair and distinctive fashion catch the eye. Additionally, the relaxed pose leaning out of the car window and cool gaze evoke a sense of a commercial film.
Kang Tae-pung, who has lived without knowing lack in abundance, is a character who has not truly felt the weight of the world thanks to his father's business. He has lived freely and flamboyantly, thinking he could do anything he wanted, but soon he will face a massive change. This is because he is expected to confront a colossal storm called the IMF at the end of the youthful freedom he has enjoyed without restraint.
Suddenly thrown into the position of president of a trading company on the brink of collapse, his life, which had only revolved around himself, becomes a fierce battleground where he must embrace the survival of his employees. As he faces the rough and turbulent waves of 'survival,' the choices he makes and his growth intertwine with the tagline 'Our youth that did not bow down during that time,' raising expectations for the fiery journey ahead.
The production team noted, 'The poster for 'Romantic 1997' showcases a naïve youth, Kang Tae-pung, who enjoyed the wealth and freedom given unconditionally by the previous generation before facing the harsh times of the IMF. However, behind it lies the brewing storm of a crisis. The process of Kang Tae-pung overcoming this crisis to survive will convey a message of fierce zeal and simmering hope of the times. We hope you will join us in this survival journey.'
