Actor Bae Hyun-seung mentioned the preparations he made for 'The Gentleman.'
On the 8th, the press conference for tvN's 'The Gentleman Project' was held online. Hosted by Park Kyung-rim, the conference was attended by director Shin Kyung-soo, Han Seok-kyu, Bae Hyun-seung, and actor Lee Rae.
The new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'The Gentleman Project' (written by Ban Gi-ri / directed by Shin Kyung-soo / planned by Studio Dragon / produced by Duframe), which will premiere on the 15th (Mon.) at 8:50 p.m., is a dispute resolution hero drama where a former legendary negotiator and current chicken restaurant owner, who has a mysterious secret, navigates between illegal and legal means to solve cases and uphold justice.
Bae Hyun-seung, who plays the role of 'Jo Philip,' a new judge and chicken restaurant employee, shared the efforts he made for the character.
He recalled, "I wanted to show a professional appearance whenever I talked about the law, so I also participated in court observation classes and prepared by meeting and discussing with practicing lawyers. The boss has a somewhat flexible appearance, but I wanted to show Philip's contrasting image. I tried to show an expert-like demeanor, so I kept memorizing things and practiced repeatedly."
When asked about his activities at the chicken restaurant, he joked, "I'm a parachute employee, so I didn't excel, but I tried to do my best with cleaning and organizing. I also tried to discuss legal matters."
When asked about 'Bae Hyun-seung's new appearance' in this production, he said, "Philip is a model student and has a smart image, but as he meets the gentleman and Sion, he becomes a bit more flexible and shows a more human side, which you will be able to see. Philip is good at empathizing with others' feelings but outwardly judges rationally. So, how about the descriptor 'outwardly stiff but inwardly soft' for Bae Hyun-seung?"
