Comedian Jung Sun-hee and it has been 17 years since the death of the late Ahn Jae-hwan, who died one year after marrying her.
Ahn Jae-hwan was found dead on Sept. 8, 2008, inside his car parked on the roadside in Hagye-dong, Nowon District, Seoul. He was 36.
Ahn Jae-hwan, who graduated from Seoul National University's craft department, debuted as a theater actor in 1995. The following year he debuted as an MBC open recruitment talent and appeared in drama "Mom and Sister," "Beautiful Temptation," "Secret Man and Woman," and others. In particular, in 2007 he married comedian Jung Sun-hee, but he ended his life one year after marrying, causing sorrow.
Because his death was the year after their marriage, unverified rumors followed and tormented Jung Sun-hee. After suspending activities for a long time, Jung appeared on SBS Plus's "Does Kim Soo-mi Eat Her Meal?" in 2020 and said, "It has been about 12 years since Ahn Jae-hwan passed away. Painful feelings last a long time. Even now all the memories are not forgotten. I knew he had debt during our dating. Even though I was anxious, I loved Ahn Jae-hwan and thought I could solve everything. It was arrogance to think I could handle it."
She added, "I didn't know it would come back like that later. Who could have imagined it. I said, 'Have a good trip,' but even the day before we quarreled about money. September is the anniversary, and around that time my body hurts. He appears in my dreams, but not in a good way. For about three years I was pinned down by sleep paralysis."
Jung Sun-hee recently restarted activities running YouTube channels and others. On a YouTube channel last year she said, "I was even deprived of the chance to grieve. Without the rights of the bereaved family, I was in a position to explain myself. I suffered from guilt," and recently on her own YouTube she teared up at a viewer saying they had misunderstood and said, "I will clear up the misunderstanding before I go. Or rather it has been cleared. I am thankful."
