The late Daedo Library (real name Na Dong-hyun), a first-generation YouTuber and the YouTube equivalent of Yoo Jae-suk, has suddenly passed away, leaving shock and sorrow in his wake, while condolences and tributes continue two days after his mortuary was set up. His last journey is being watched over by his younger sister and ex-wife, Yumdang.
Daedo Library was found dead in his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the 6th. He was 46 years old.
After being reported by a concerned friend who was worried when he didn't show up at a promised place and could not be contacted, the police arrived at the scene and did not find a suicide note. Considering the possibility of underlying health issues, they conducted an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. According to the Gwangjin Police Station on the 8th, the National Forensic Service performed an autopsy on Daedo Library that morning and provided a preliminary verbal report stating, "There are no indications of foul play."
The police said, "We are considering the likelihood that he died from health issues. We plan to determine the exact cause of death after receiving the final autopsy report from the National Forensic Service."
Daedo Library's final journey is being watched over by his younger sister and ex-wife Yumdang, ensuring he is not alone. Yumdang and Daedo Library were married in 2015, and at that time, despite it being Daedo Library's first marriage, he warmly accepted Yumdang's son from her previous marriage, drawing attention. Eight years later, in 2023, the two chose to divorce, but Daedo Library stated, "It's not that we are parting due to something bad. As we lived together, we wanted to focus more on our work, and although we could get along better as friends living as a family, there were times when conflicts arose, which led to the divorce."
As a 'first generation' who opened up the path for internet broadcasting and gaming broadcasts, tributes for Daedo Library continue two days after his mortuary was set up on the 8th.
Kim Seong-hoi, who operates the channel 'Kim Seong-hoi's G Encyclopedia,' visited the mortuary and presented a wreath with the phrase, "I mourn the last journey of the person who opened the path." He noted, "Through my senior, I came to know the world of game broadcasting and dreamed of becoming a game broadcaster.
