The trio of Moms who appeared on MBN 'Let's Go Go' captivated viewers with their bold and candid talk.
In the 10th episode of season 5 of MBN 'Let's Go Go,' which aired on the 6th, Sugar Ayumi, singer Son Dam-bi, and comedian Lee Eun-hyung appeared and shared various stories about marriage, childbirth, and parenting, attracting attention.
MC Ahn Jung-hwan and Hong Hyun-hee's husband, special MC Jasson, gathered with Ayumi, Son Dam-bi, and Lee Eun-hyung, who share the common ground of being Moms. Jasson expressed his admiration for their appearances, saying, "You can't tell they have given birth," and the trio of Moms playfully responded with, "Should we show our C-section scars?" leading to laughter. The MCs and the trio headed to Ayumi's house, marveling at the home filled with pictures of her child from the entrance. Ayumi, who disclosed her wide and bright living room filled with cute items, shared, "I wasn't able to renovate properly because of the baby. I did it only in parts, but I actually wanted to make it more beautiful," expressing her disappointment.
Ahn Jung-hwan asked the Moms, "After giving birth, do you feel like you don't want to see your husband's face?" to which all the Moms surprised him by saying, "I liked it." Jasson shared his perspective as a husband, stating, "I felt sad when my wife went into the delivery room. I was choked up seeing her back," and Son Dam-bi recounted, "My husband also said he felt sad. I went in too brightly, and he thought, 'Why is she so bright?'" Ayumi continued, "When my husband said 'Come back safely,' I felt like crying. So I forced a cheerful, 'I will be back,' but honestly, I felt anxious," while Lee Eun-hyung added, "I also felt like crying, so I didn't even say goodbye when I went in. You never know how a surgery will go, considering it's a high-risk pregnancy," sharing the moment of giving birth.
Next, the trio of Moms shared their stories about pregnancy. Lee Eun-hyung said, "Now that I'm over forty, I thought it would be nice to have a child. But it turns out my husband dreamed of playing catch with a child," revealing her pregnancy story. She continued, "I lost weight while doing a soccer program, and my husband and I got along well through running, and we were blessed with a child like a gift." Ayumi added, "I thought as I got older that I wouldn't be able to have a child. When I went for a prenatal checkup, it showed a higher count than my age, so I froze my eggs. But I conceived naturally," she shared.
Finally, Son Dam-bi confessed, "I went to the hospital, but my numbers were too low, and my husband's numbers were very healthy. They said he was a 'king of sperm.'" She mentioned, "I went straight to in vitro fertilization, and it worked on the second attempt." Son Dam-bi described her experience with in vitro fertilization, saying, "I became mentally exhausted and gained a lot of weight. When you fail the in vitro process, they call you, and they said you can't be too thin, so I gained weight before going in." She especially noted, "My mother also had a high-risk pregnancy, and I'm having one as well, which worried her. I'm not the worrying type myself, but I had placenta previa. Luckily, the child held out, and I had the surgery at 38 weeks," sharing her difficult story of pregnancy and childbirth.
Jasson shared about his wife Hong Hyun-hee's childbirth, saying, "I cooked all the food for her. She said, 'If it's this kind of pregnancy, I could continue.' That's my pride." Hearing this, Lee Eun-hyung added, "When I was pregnant, that was the happiest time of my life. My husband also prepared all the meals and made healthy juices for me every day," boasting. Son Dam-bi also remarked, "I didn't feel lacking at all. He was consistent in his care, which made me happy. It was my happiest time," she expressed.
However, Ayumi reacted, saying, "When I was pregnant, I didn't feel lacking, but after giving birth, it's so annoying to hear the baby snoring beside me. When the baby cries, the mothers wake up immediately, but the dads don't." She continued, "What drives me crazy is when he asks, 'Do you want to go to mom?' It makes me angry," revealing her disappointment. Lee Eun-hyung chimed in, "I completely agree. So when the baby cries, I gaslight him by asking, 'Do you like Dad? Do you want to go to Dad?'" causing laughter.
Then Ahn Jung-hwan asked, "Isn't recovery important, too? I heard it's painful?" Son Dam-bi replied, "There is a golden time. If you don't lose weight then, it becomes hard to go back." She explained, "My abdominal muscles are all torn apart, so even if I lose weight, my clothes won't fit." Continuing, Son Dam-bi added, "I exercised from the postpartum care center. I started with walking slowly," and explained, "I do exercises that tighten this area (abdominal muscles) by touching and exhaling to tighten them myself. It's not as easy as it sounds; you have to keep moving." Especially, Son Dam-bi stunned everyone by saying, "It's been 3 months since giving birth; I went from 67 kg back to my original weight of 48 kg."
The Moms expressed gratitude towards their mothers. Lee Eun-hyung stated, "My mom seems like a Wonder Woman. Nowadays, there are many convenient parenting items that we can choose from, but back then, there was nothing. I wonder how she raised two of us. I think she's great." Ayumi also responded, "My mom was living in Korea and then moved to Japan to raise me alone. I truly respect how amazing my mom is."
Son Dam-bi also expressed, "I told my mom I felt 'disappointed,' and she replied, 'I raised you as my only child, cherishing you, and every time you say such things, my heart breaks.' But since I have given birth to a child, I've realized that just for being their child, I may have hurt my parents. So after giving birth, I called my mom to apologize," revealing her heartfelt feelings that brought tears to everyone's eyes.
Lastly, Ahn Jung-hwan asked, "What do you hope your children will become when they grow up? What if they want to be singers?" In response, Son Dam-bi said, "I don't have any specific expectations yet." In contrast, Ayumi replied, "I think it's fine if they want to be singers. I hope they join a company with money," mentioning, "The company I was in didn't have that, so even the food was different," while reflecting on her past experience of eating corn soaked in milk for dieting.
