The late Dae Library (real name Na Dong-hyun) has unexpectedly passed away, with his younger sister and 'ex-wife' Yumdaeng taking on the role of mourners and seeing him off on his final journey.
On the 6th, according to the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul, the police and fire authorities responded to a report from an acquaintance stating that Dae Library had not shown up for a scheduled meeting and could not be reached, but he was found dead at his home. It is reported that no suicide note or signs of homicide were discovered at the scene.
A police official said, 'It is presumed that Dae Library died of an underlying illness' and stated that an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death. Recently, Dae Library had complained of chest pain, raising concerns that his death may be attributed to a pre-existing medical condition.
Above all, the sudden news of his death came as a shock, especially as Dae Library attended the 2026 S/S Seoul Fashion Week held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul two days prior on the 4th and was actively participating in a live broadcast on his YouTube channel.
Dae Library's funeral hall was set up at Konkuk University Hospital in Hwayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. The mourners included his ex-wife Yumdaeng, whom he divorced two years ago, and Dae Library's younger sister.
While Yumdaeng has been receiving supportive comments since Dae Library's passing, she is also suffering from negative comments. Dae Library and Yumdaeng married in 2015. Notably, as this was Dae Library's first marriage, he warmly accepted Yumdaeng's son from her previous marriage as part of the family, which drew a lot of attention.
However, in 2023, they amicably agreed to divorce, stating that they could be better off as friends. At that time, both stated that they would continue to meet often and stay in touch like friends after the divorce. In fact, even after their divorce, the two supported each other's endeavors and only showed their best sides to their fans.
Following Dae Library's death, Yumdaeng's social account has been flooded with both supportive comments encouraging her not to blame herself and negative comments blaming her. Fans have urged Yumdaeng to take legal action against the 'haters' and voiced concerns, stating that 'criticizing the deceased under the pretext of a personal matter is crossing the line.'
Meanwhile, Dae Library's funeral will be held on the 9th at 8 a.m. The burial site is Seoul Municipal Seunghwa Crematorium.
