The sudden news of the passing of the late Daehan Library, known as a 'first-generation internet broadcaster,' has led colleagues to post memorial messages expressing their deep condolences.
On the 7th, Kim Seong-hwi, who operates the 'G Encyclopedia' channel, shared a photo of the floral tribute at the late Daehan Library's mortuary on his channel, saying, "I visited the funeral home of Mr. Na Dong-hyun, known as Daehan Library."
He revealed his respect for the deceased, saying, "Any path in this world would not have been a path for anyone who had to be hurt and stumble before it could become a road."
He added, "The first person to walk any path is always great. Even though we are the same age, I remember my senior with respect. I deeply mourn the last path of the person who opened the way."
Earlier, on the 6th, news of the late Daehan Library's passing was reported. He was 46 years old. The police and fire authorities received a report from an acquaintance saying that he did not show up at the scheduled time and could not be contacted. They arrived at his home in Gwangjin-gu at around 8:40 a.m. but found him deceased. No suicide note or signs of foul play were reported at the scene.
Daehan Library began his personal broadcasting career as a BJ on AfreecaTV in 2010 and operated a YouTube channel that currently has 1.44 million subscribers. In an environment filled with sensational content, he started game content and conducted a clean broadcast without profanity, making a significant contribution to familiarizing the public with internet broadcasting, and he was also a first-generation YouTuber who led the trend of migrating the broadcasting environment to platforms like YouTube.
Moreover, Daehan Library expanded his activities as a broadcaster by appearing in various entertainment programs beyond internet broadcasting and appearing on TV media. In 2018, he also received the Male Rookie Award in the Entertainment Category at the Korea Culture and Entertainment Awards. His sudden passing shocked not only fans but also fellow YouTubers.
