Actress Jeon Won-joo revealed her experience of being defrauded of a substantial amount of money.
In the episode aired on the 7th, the appearance of attorney Kim Hee-jun conducting consultations regarding Jeon Won-joo's inheritance was depicted on KBS2's 'Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears' (hereinafter referred to as 'Boss's Ears').
On that day, attorney Kim Hee-jun, who met with Jeon Won-joo, asked, "Did you primarily use savings accounts or fixed-term deposits when you saved money?" and Jeon Won-joo replied, "I go to the bank when I have money. The branch manager even brought a car to my house. I get to enter the VIP room. I felt really special. I realized how enjoyable it is to save money."
Attorney Kim Hee-jun asked, "I saw in a news article that you go to a hotel health club lately," and Jeon Won-joo explained, "I save on everything else, but I don't spare any expense on my health. I run for 30 minutes each time."
In response, attorney Kim Hee-jun asked, "But the news article said you lent 50 million won to a younger man and couldn't get it back," drawing attention. Jeon Won-joo recounted, "That's my ultimate regret. I met one of the hikers while hiking. He was really handsome. He would call me 'Sister' and stick to me while going up the mountain. He asked for money. It was the first time I ever lent money to someone."
Then, attorney Kim Hee-jun lamented, "You saved so hard for it," and Jeon Won-joo confessed, "He was just too handsome... I lost my mind looking at him and just handed it over."
Attorney Kim Hee-jun said, "That's the most dangerous thing. If they offer high interest or promise significant returns later, any form of that investment or lending is definitely a fraud." He added, "You should never lend money to someone you don't know well. You lend it to someone with whom you have some level of trust. That case was such a situation; you lent it after meeting in a hiking club, thinking he was trustworthy."
Lee Soon-sil, hearing this, revealed, "I was defrauded in the same way. It's about investing in a construction project for a Chinese airport. They recruited North Korean defectors to invest. They said it was a great opportunity prepared for North Korean defectors. When I gave 30 million won, I only got back 2 million won. So I put in more. I ended up losing 90 million won."
In response, Park Myung-soo said, "I have a saying I created: A goodwill from a stranger is 100% fraud," to which attorney Kim Hee-jun nodded in agreement, saying, "That's right. You expressed it perfectly."
