The sudden death of popular YouTuber Daedo Library (real name Na Dong-hyeon, 46 years old) with 1.44 million subscribers has drawn attention regarding the cause.
Daedo Library was found dead at his home in the Gwangjin District of Seoul on the morning of the 6th. The police and fire authorities were dispatched after a friend reported that he had failed to show up at their meeting place and lost contact, but he was already deceased. No suicide note or signs of homicide were found at the scene.
In particular, there have been concerns about his health status among online communities and viewers. Daedo Library reportedly complained of chest pain during a broadcast, saying, "My heart feels prickly," and was also known to have shown signs of fatigue due to lack of sleep recently.
In fact, just two days before his death on the 4th, he continued a live broadcast for over five hours and mentioned, "I hardly slept." Due to these circumstances, some are speculating that a heart condition, such as myocardial infarction, may have been the cause of his death.
The police stated, "There are currently no signs of homicide," and noted, "We are considering the possibility that he died of a chronic illness and plan to determine the exact cause of death through an autopsy."
Meanwhile, Daedo Library began his activities as a BJ on AfreecaTV in 2010, gaining fame for his gaming content. He later transitioned to YouTube, establishing himself as a first-generation Internet broadcaster. He was a prominent creator who contributed to popularizing personal broadcasts and was a symbolic figure in the domestic Internet broadcasting landscape.
