The late Daedoseogwan (real name Na Dong-hyeon) has passed away, with his younger sister and ex-wife Yumdeng (real name Lee Chae-won) named as the mourners.
On the 6th, it was reported that the YouTuber Daedoseogwan, who had 1.44 million subscribers, had died at the age of 46.
According to the Gwangjin Police Station, Daedoseogwan was found dead at his home in Gwangjin District, Seoul, on the 6th. A friend notified the police after he did not show up for an appointment and could not be reached, and the police dispatched to the scene discovered Daedoseogwan. No signs of foul play or a suicide note were found at the scene.
A police official said, "It is presumed that Daedoseogwan died of an illness," adding that they plan to confirm the cause of death through an autopsy. Coincidentally, Daedoseogwan recently complained of chest pain, leading to speculation that his death may have been due to a health issue.
Daedoseogwan was active and had attended the 2026 S/S Seoul Fashion Week held at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza on the 4th, just two days before his death, which added to the shock.
Daedoseogwan's mortuary has been set up at Konkuk University Hospital in Hwayang-dong, Gwangjin District, Seoul. His ex-wife Yumdeng, who divorced him two years ago, and Daedoseogwan's younger sister have been named as the mourners.
Daedoseogwan and Yumdeng were married in 2015. At that time, Yumdeng garnered attention for warmly accepting Daedoseogwan's son from a previous marriage as part of the family.
However, Daedoseogwan and Yumdeng divorced in 2023 after eight years of marriage. At that time, Daedoseogwan noted, "It is not that we separated due to bad circumstances. As we lived together, we wanted to focus more on our work, and while living as a family, we found that we could get along better as friends, but there were parts where we clashed, leading to the divorce."
