Group i-dle (Idol) member Yuqi is unveiling the musical world of a self-produced idol.
Yuqi will release her first single 'Motivation' on the 16th, continuing her identity as a solo artist while participating in group activities.
Yuqi marked her new beginning as a solo singer by releasing the digital single 'A Page' in 2021. Having worked on songs for the group's albums, Yuqi participated in writing and composing the track 'Giant' on her first solo digital single, showcasing her potential as a singer-songwriter.
In her first mini-album 'YUQ1', released last year, she presented multidimensional tracks that do not adhere to any specific genre. In her self-composed title track 'FREAK', Yuqi transformed into a cute oddball, receiving praise for its appealing band sound with a simple arrangement. She expressed another side of 'Yuqi's emotionality' not only in the title track but also in the other tracks.
This year, Yuqi attempted a transformation into the stylish hip-hop R&B genre with her digital single 'Radio (Dum-Dum)'. Even before its official release, 'Radio (Dum-Dum)' was used as music for major brand advertisements, garnering high interest. Notably, it received 'platinum certification' on QQ Music, the largest music platform in China, maintaining its long run on the charts.
Additionally, Yuqi was involved in producing 'Fly Freely (Feat. Yuqi)' for her agency's junior group NOWZ, which was released in July. She contributed to the lyrics, composition, and concept planning, helping to propel 'Fly Freely (Feat. Yuqi)' to the top of QQ Music's new song chart.
Yuqi is constantly expanding her territory as a producer while supporting junior groups, alongside her activities with i-dle and her solo albums. In her upcoming music release 'Motivation', which revolves around the question she poses to herself, 'What's your Motivation?', she plans to continue her unique journey.
Yuqi's first single 'Motivation', which includes the title tracks 'M.O.' and 'I Hurt', as well as the Chinese version of 'I Hurt', titled '痛' (Haitongma), will be released on the 16th at 6 p.m. through various music platforms.
