Following the sudden death of YouTuber Daedoseogwan (real name Na Dong-hyun), interest in the cause of his death is pouring in.
Daedoseogwan was found dead at his home on the morning of the 6th. He was 46 years old. Police and fire authorities dispatched to his home in Gwangjin-gu at around 8:40 a.m. after a friend reported that he had not shown up for an appointment and was unreachable, but he was found dead. No note or indications of foul play were discovered at the scene.
Immediately after the news of Daedoseogwan's death was reported, testimonies began to surface on online communities that he had recently complained of chest pain. According to viewers who watched his broadcasts, Daedoseogwan was known to have often remarked during his streams that "his heart felt tingling."
Moreover, just two days before his death, on the 4th, Daedoseogwan conducted a live broadcast, during which he appeared fatigued, stating that he had hardly slept due to his schedule. Some speculate that he may have died of a myocardial infarction based on the fact that he had complained of chest pain and conducted broadcasts for more than five hours without sufficient sleep.
Chest pain is one of the major warning signs of acute myocardial infarction. If there are repeating symptoms such as squeezing chest pain or a tingling feeling in the heart accompanied by cold sweats or shortness of breath, cardiovascular diseases should be suspected. In fact, it is known that Daedoseogwan's father also passed away from a myocardial infarction when he was a high school student.
In response, a police representative noted that they are investigating the possibility of underlying health issues based on the statements about the deceased complaining of heart-related pain, and they plan to confirm the exact cause of death through an autopsy.
Meanwhile, Daedoseogwan was a YouTube creator with 1.44 million subscribers. He began his personal broadcasting career as a BJ on AfreecaTV in 2010 and was a first-generation internet broadcaster who contributed to popularizing internet broadcasts to the public through gaming content. In 2015, he married fellow popular YouTuber Yumdaeng, receiving much support, but they divorced by agreement in 2023 after eight years. However, it is reported that they maintained a close friendship after the divorce.
