It has already been 11 years since the late Kwon Ri-se passed away, a member of the group Ladies' Code. Fans still remember their music and reminisce about the late Kwon Ri-se's smile.
The late Kwon Ri-se passed away after a car accident near the Singal Junction on the Yeongdong Expressway while traveling to Seoul around 1:23 a.m. on Sept. 3, 2014. The vehicle carrying the Ladies' Code members, who were returning after fulfilling their schedule, was traveling on the road when it lost a rear wheel and skidded on a rainy road, rolling multiple times before crashing into the guardrail.
Due to this accident, member Go Eun-bi passed away on the day of the accident, and the late Kwon Ri-se underwent more than 9 hours of surgery but ultimately could not regain consciousness and passed away around 10:10 a.m. on Sept. 7.
At the time, the late Kwon Ri-se was 23 years old. At such a young age, the sudden passing of the late Kwon Ri-se due to an unfortunate accident left colleagues in the music industry and fans in great shock and sorrow. And although 11 years have passed since the late Kwon Ri-se passed away, fans still miss her.
The late Kwon Ri-se, a fourth-generation Korean resident in Japan, became known to Korean fans after participating in the MBC audition program "The Great Birth". She attracted attention as a titleholder of Miss Korea Japan in 2009 and was loved for her charming smile, cute appearance, and clear, beautiful voice.
She later achieved her dream by debuting as a member of Ladies' Code in March 2013. The late Kwon Ri-se gained popularity with songs like "Pretty Pretty," "So Wonderful," and "Kiss Kiss" while active with Ladies' Code.
After losing the late Kwon Ri-se and Go Eun-bi, the members of Ladies' Code also continued their activities as a trio consisting of Ashley, So-jung, and Jun-hee.
