In the midst of the challenges faced by the Cheon Ho-jin family, Jeong Il-woo and Jeong In-sun begin their collaboration in a bleak atmosphere.
The 9th episode of the KBS 2TV weekend drama 'Our Golden Days' (directed by Kim Hyung-seok / written by So Hyun-kyeong / produced by Studio Coming Soon, Studio Bom, Monster Union), aired on the 6th at 8 p.m., shows Lee Ji-hyeok (played by Jeong Il-woo) proposing a collaboration to Ji Eun-oh (played by Jeong In-sun), marking the start of their precarious partnership as he worked day and night for the business.
On that day, Ji Eun-oh declared her intention to quit her job as a café manager. Ji-hyeok honestly shared his situation and earnestly pleaded with her. Her surprise at his desperate attitude led Eun-oh to eventually accept Ji-hyeok, who remained in the warehouse. Following this, Ji-hyeok dedicated himself to work relentlessly, and Eun-oh could not hide her astonishment at seeing him even doze off while washing his face.
Meanwhile, Lee Sang-cheol (played by Cheon Ho-jin) struggled to obtain a vocational qualification as an electrician while attending a learning center and living on convenience store food, even juggling a part-time job unloading deliveries. Concerned, his mother Jo Ok-rye (played by Ban Hyo-jung) also took up a part-time job to help him. However, unexpected circumstances arose as she faced her in-law Kim Jang-soo (played by Yoon Joo-sang) on her first day, who suggested they work together, saying, "It's not easy to find a job at our age. As long as the kids don't know, it's fine."
Park Sung-jae (played by Yoon Hyun-min) finally sought out Ji-hyeok's office, which opened in the warehouse. Ji-hyeok was puzzled to see Sung-jae and Eun-oh growing increasingly close without his knowledge, and he felt a strange jealousy as he observed Sung-jae even preparing food for Eun-oh's father's memorial table, adding tension to their love triangle.
Lee Ji-wan (played by Son Sang-yeon) expressed her disappointment to Park Young-ra (played by Park Jeong-yeon) over her hesitance to use a title. In response, Young-ra eventually called Ji-wan "Oppa," signaling a change in their relationship, and the distance between her and Ji-wan became noticeably closer. Meanwhile, Go Seong-hee (played by Lee Tae-ran), who remarried into a wealthy family, gradually showed her ambitions by moving Young-ra to her fitness center to tie her to the third generation of a chaebol.
Ji-hyeok, who received his first commission, proposed a hefty sum of 20 million won for collaboration with Eun-oh. When Eun-oh expressed her surprise, Ji-hyeok clarified, "You're not just a simple coordinator; I need a reliable first case, which is why I'm inviting you," showing his trust in her. However, Eun-oh flatly rejected his proposal.
At the end of the broadcast, Eun-oh's younger brother Ji Gang-oh (played by Yang Hyuk) rushed into the café, demanding money from Eun-oh. Having fallen into hardship after failing a stock investment and being pursued by moneylenders, he put Eun-oh in danger, but she stood her ground without wavering. Soon, Ji-hyeok joined her in helping, causing the moneylenders to back off. Subsequently, Eun-oh, who repaid the money on behalf of Gang-oh, decided to accept Ji-hyeok's proposal, officially kicking off their tense collaboration.
