It also topped the Trend Peak chart, the overall and Korean music video charts, and the digital album sales chart on Kugou Music, as well as the K-POP chart on Tencent Music, and claimed the number one spot on the real-time rising chart on Japan's AWA, sweeping various global charts and creating a worldwide phenomenon.
Additionally, the UK's renowned music magazine NME recently highlighted aespa in an interview article titled 'The powerful message aespa conveys with their new song: "It's not a story about material wealth.",' introducing this album and addressing aespa's significant achievements to date with great interest.
NME remarked about aespa, saying, 'aespa, who have released powerful and bold pop hits for several years, achieved their first number one on the Circle Digital Chart, Korea's Billboard Hot 100 equivalent, with the song 'Supernova,' known as the hyperpop phenomenon, in 2024. This song marks the beginning of a monumental year for aespa, who then released their critically acclaimed debut studio album 'Armageddon' and embarked on a large-scale world tour.'
In the NME interview, aespa also explained about their title track 'Rich Man,' stating, 'What makes this song special is that it talks about self-love and confidence, rather than material wealth. The lyric 'Meet someone who can give you everything' actually means 'yourself.' If you believe in and love yourself, that means you are rich.'
Meanwhile, aespa will appear on MBC's 'Show! Music Core' today (6th) and on SBS's 'Inkigayo' on the 7th.
