The program "Jun Hyun-moo Plan 2" brought happiness to the living room by featuring a delightful food trip where Jun Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube visited treasure restaurants in Chungju with singer Lee Seok-hoon.
In the 45th episode of the full-fledged real street food documentary "Jun Hyun-moo Plan 2" (co-produced by MBN and Channel S), which aired on the 5th (Friday), Jun Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube (Kwak Jun-bin) traveled to Chungju, North Chungcheong Province, with their "food friend" Lee Seok-hoon to uncover treasure restaurants. They started with a restaurant that served dishes made with 'olgaengi' (snails) caught directly from Chungju Lake and explored unique local specialties, including 'chimak' (chicken + makgeolli) and 'okdol samgyeopsal' (marble stone pork belly), captivating the viewers.
On this day, Jun Hyun-moo, who visited Chungju, expressed admiration for the beautiful scenery of the Namhan River, saying, "Just compiling the opening locations of 'Jun Hyun-moo Plan' would be enough to create a domestic travel app." Kwak Tube also noted, "It's a real scenic spot," expressing intense satisfaction about the opening scene. The two then moved to find a restaurant to enjoy Chungju's local dish, 'olgaengi.' At the first restaurant in Chungju, the two were served 'forgotten olgaengi' and 'olgaengi haejangguk' (snail soup with raw egg), and they cheered, saying, "It's very unique," and "It's a taste I've never had before!" Afterwards, Jun Hyun-moo said, "Now, let's go meet a special person," and they met their "food friend" Lee Seok-hoon.
After a warm greeting, the three headed to the world's first 'chimak' restaurant, highly recommended by viewers. Upon entering the restaurant, Lee Seok-hoon, after placing his order, remarked, "It's great that there are foods that children can eat here," showing a 'falling in love' expression even before eating. Jun Hyun-moo asked, "How old is your son?" to which Lee Seok-hoon replied, "He's already in the first grade. I got married when I was 31." He went on to share about how he met his wife, a participant in 'Love Studio,' saying, "After the recording, I asked her to get her phone number. We met a few days later and started dating," igniting a spark in Jun Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube.
During a rich 'wedding talk,' crispy chicken dusted with buckwheat flour and refreshing chilled buckwheat noodles were served. As they delved into the 'chimak' eating scene, Lee Seok-hoon exclaimed, "I don't remember the last time I had fried food," repeatedly bursting with happiness. Jun Hyun-moo commented, "It's authentic chicken without any frills!" giving a 'thumbs up.' Kwak Tube, who cleared the buckwheat noodles as well, praised, "It's not just about the combination; both are delicious."
After elevating their 'food high' with 'chimak,' the three moved on to the next course at the 'okdol samgyeopsal' restaurant. In the car, Lee Seok-hoon, who usually doesn't exercise, told the two, "I also don't want to go to work out, but I think if I don't go, I'll feel like a pathetic person, so I go anyway. After finishing my workout, my self-esteem goes back up. I can feel the mental health benefits from exercising." Given that he had previously lost '36 kg,' Kwak Tube responded, "A quintessential guilty human! Hexagonal!" while Jun Hyun-moo joked, "We're pentagonal~" However, Lee Seok-hoon corrected him in a model student manner, saying, "Hyung, work out. Why say such things that make your self-esteem drop?" adding warmth to the moment with a smile.
Shortly after, upon arriving at the 'okdol samgyeopsal' restaurant, the three were amazed to see the owner had a plate made from jade that was personally harvested from a cave. Kwak Tube exclaimed, "This is something only available at this restaurant," exhibiting 'dilated pupils,' while the owner highlighted, "This jade plate automatically cooks the meat just right if you control the fire." The three, after enjoying the perfectly grilled pork belly, said, "It feels like eating meat that has bathed in hot water!" and "This is the best pork belly I've had among the places I've eaten while filming 'Jun Hyun-moo Plan!'" Jun Hyun-moo especially expressed gratitude as soon as he tasted the 'cheongukjang' (fermented soybean paste stew), declaring, "This is food you can only eat if your grandmother is the owner. Even 'Black and White Chef' can't make this. It's so precious," showing his appreciation.
After enjoying a fulfilling food experience, the Chungju food trip concluded with Lee Seok-hoon's 'okdol'-like song, while Jun Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube will be visiting the clear city of Cheongju for the '60th street' in the next episode, which will air on the 12th (Friday) at 9:10 p.m. on MBN and Channel S.
