Actor Jeong Seong-hwa, who is a former comedian, revealed that he was able to debut thanks to Shin Dong-yeop.
The web entertainment show 'Pinggae-go,' which was released on the 6th, proceeded as 'Dongmun is Pinggae-go,' featuring Hwang Jung-min, Jeong Seong-hwa, and Jeong Seong-hoon as guests.
That day, Yoo Jae-suk opened the conversation by saying, "Seong-hwa was actually an SBS comedian," and Jeong Seong-hwa said, "I went to audition at (Seoul Arts College) Comedy Club. But that day, my brother (Yoo Jae-suk) came. He came as a reporter," and Yoo Jae-suk appeared to be surprised as if he had just remembered.
Jeong Seong-hwa continued, "It was when my brother was at KBS. At that time, he came as a reporter saying, 'This is the audition site.' That's when I passed. While I was active, during a festival, I did something, and my brother Shin Dong-yeop saw it," and he added, "At that time, SBS had just been established, and they needed to recruit new talent, so they took me to SBS the next day. I worked as an FD next to the producer while learning the site. I prepared for the audition at the same time."
In response, Yoo Jae-suk said, "So that's how you debuted through a public audition. One could say Dong-yeop picked you and guided you," and Jeong Seong-hwa acknowledged this.
Jeong Seong-hwa reminisced, "After returning from the military, I acted in a drama called KAIST. It came out well. Since I did that, I started getting commercials, and things went well. But at some point, work suddenly stopped, as if it was a lie. So, I hung out with Sang-hoon for a year or two."
Hearing this, Jeong Sang-hoon said, "(Seong-hwa) thought he could only work for SBS, so he found a house in front of the Tanhyeon Production Center. And then he had no work. He was just someone living in front of SBS without a job," which drew laughter.
