"Good job, see you next time." YouTuber Daedoseogwan (real name Na Dong-hyun) passed away suddenly, causing shock, while his friendly interactions with fans through a YouTube live stream just two days earlier added to the grief.
On the morning of the 6th, Daedoseogwan was found dead at his home located in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, at the age of 46.
According to Yonhap News, the Gwangjin Police Station dispatched officers to Daedoseogwan's home after receiving a report from an acquaintance stating that Daedoseogwan had not appeared at their scheduled meeting time and could not be reached. However, it was revealed that Daedoseogwan was already dead.
No suicide note or evidence of foul play was found at the scene. Therefore, the police plan to investigate the cause of death, considering the possibility of pre-existing health conditions.
In fact, just two days before his death, on the 4th, Daedoseogwan conducted a live broadcast and interacted with fans. He attended Seoul Fashion Week that day and greeted fans warmly, saying, "Welcome, hello," and mentioned, "I went to Fashion Week, took some photos, and ate with friends."
Notably, he expressed his exhaustion, saying, "I haven't slept much," and noted, "I think I only slept for about 3 hours while getting my hair and makeup done since this morning," but he added, "I went to Fashion Week today. It was fun. I watched the fashion show for a while," and remarked, "There were so many people. Not hundreds, but thousands came," while he also shared, "I went out early in the morning to get my hair and makeup done and got dressed," and proudly mentioned, "Is my hair pretty today? Thank you. The shirt I'm wearing today is a collaboration with a designer and an artist featuring a beaver illustration. I wore it like this," standing up from his computer desk to show his full outfit, demonstrating his commitment to interacting with his subscribers.
Additionally, Daedoseogwan engaged with fans while playing the game Mabinogi in real-time and encouraged those who participated in the party, saying, "It looks great. You guys worked hard. Let's meet again next time," and "You did well. It was awesome," creating a warm atmosphere. On that day, Daedoseogwan conducted a live broadcast for about 5 hours and 30 minutes, engaging with fans for a long time. Therefore, the news of his passing has caused immense shock.
Daedoseogwan was a first-generation creator who had been active since 2010. He started his personal broadcasts as a BJ on AfreecaTV and garnered 1.44 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, earning the titles 'the Yoo Jae-suk of BJs', 'the national MC on YouTube', and 'first-generation creator'.
In particular, Daedoseogwan married another popular BJ, Yumdaeng, in 2015. Afterward, Yumdaeng raised a son from her previous marriage alone, and it became known that Daedoseogwan accepted Yumdaeng's child as his own, which garnered him even more support. Additionally, as Yumdaeng faced a kidney disease and underwent surgery, the couple, Daedoseogwan and Yumdaeng, attracted attention as a first-generation popular YouTuber and BJ couple.
Daedoseogwan and Yumdaeng divorced amicably in 2023, eight years after their marriage, which also evoked sadness. However, it was reported that both parties maintained a friend-like relationship and smoothly divorced even before formally separating.
