The 13th Busan International Comedy Festival (BICF) showcased a high-quality stage to the audience with the performance 'MICF Roadshow in Busan.'
The 13th Busan International Comedy Festival (BICF), hereinafter referred to as 'Bukope,' opened the performance of the overseas team 'MICF Roadshow in Busan' from Sept. 3 (Wed.). This year, the MICF Roadshow, featuring Australia's top stand-up comedians selected by the world's largest comedy festival, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF), returned to Busan once again after last year. The performance, held at Adapter Theater 1, was a 100% English stand-up comedy show that delivered the essence of high-quality comedy and offered a special laugh.
'MICF Roadshow in Busan' was hosted by comedians Dilruk Jayasinha and Joey Koms, who enjoy great popularity in Australia. The two raised the enthusiasm of the audience, relying solely on their wit with just one microphone. Dilruk Jayasinha is a popular comedian who has gained attention through numerous performances in Europe and North America, while Joey Koms has been active as a stand-up comedian since the age of 15 and is one of Australia's top comedians, having won multiple comedy awards.
The audience enjoyed drinks and watched the performance in a relaxed atmosphere, while the comedians closely interacted with the audience on stage. Additionally, comedians from the Busan Comedy Club also participated, with Anu performing on the 3rd (Wed.) and 5th (Fri.) and Jeong Yoon-soo appearing as a special guest on the 4th (Thu.), causing laughter to ensue. Every time the comedians spoke, the venue was filled with laughter and applause, and the distinctive stage of the overseas performance team was enough to significantly enhance the audience's satisfaction.
'MICF Roadshow in Busan' created a meaningful time by providing a festival that transcended nationalities and language barriers, united by laughter. In particular, Denis Damianous, the marketing and external cooperation manager of the Melbourne Comedy Festival (MICF), participated in the 'Bukope' period, adding significance to the event. Having collaborated with MICF for two consecutive years, 'Bukope' proved its existence by further spreading the positive values of laughter.
The 13th 'Bukope,' which adds joy not only through domestic performances but also overseas performances, will be held across Busan until Sept. 7 (Sun.).
