Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant, Lee Jung-hyun's daughter Seo-ah made her first attempt at acting.
On the 5th, KBS 2TV's entertainment show 'Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant' (hereafter 'Fun-Staurant') depicted Lee Jung-hyun's second independent film directing challenge.
That day, Lee Jung-hyun quietly opened his laptop late at night and wrote something down. In a following interview, he said, 'Now I'm filming my second movie.'
In April, Lee Jung-hyun was invited to the Jeonju International Film Festival with his debut work, 'I'm Going to the Flower Viewing.' At that time, director Park Chan-wook, with whom he had a long-standing friendship, praised him, saying, 'You should direct a feature film and also act.' Lee Jung-hyun responded, 'Please help me,' to which Park Chan-wook asked, 'How can I help?' Lee Jung-hyun jokingly said, 'Funding.'
When asked if he actually secured funding, Lee Jung-hyun said, 'That's not the case,' adding, 'I'm attending graduate school. I'm preparing my graduation project. This time, just like the previous work, I'm taking care of directing, producing, acting, props, and costumes. In this project, I will also play multiple roles.'
Having to manage everything alone, Lee Jung-hyun prepared props all night. He said, 'I have to do all the work for production,' and even packed snacks, adding, 'I handle the casting directly, and most of it relies on my connections. Because this is an independent film, there's no production budget, so actor Baek Seung-cheol, who I know, and my husband participated. Many previous short films have been released as well.'
The next day, Lee Jung-hyun, who woke up early, also prepared lunch boxes for the staff. After completing 40 strips of ultra-simple gimbap, when his daughter Seo-ah appeared, Lee Jung-hyun asked, 'Seo-ah also has to appear later. Can you do well?' He mentioned asking Seo-ah to participate due to the lack of production budget.
Seo-ah said, 'I want to do it like mom,' and delivered her short line, 'Goodbye, sister.' When Lee Jung-hyun advised, 'If dad doesn't play with you, it will be sad. You need to think about that while saying, "Goodbye, sister," Seo-ah made a sulky face, causing the panelists to laugh.
Meanwhile, amidst the busy filming set, Lee Jung-hyun moved around as both director and actor. He exclaimed, 'I have to do everything because there's no time,' and dashed over to do monitoring right after acting.
And his daughter Seo-ah made her first attempt at acting. At first, Seo-ah was distracted by a passing butterfly and exclaimed, 'It's a butterfly,' causing a mistake, but soon focused and perfectly delivered her line, 'Goodbye, sister,' with emotion on her second take, drawing attention.
