TWICE member and actress Dahyun revealed that her past ankle injury experience was reflected in her character's performance.
On the 5th, a press conference for the movie 'Running Fast' was held alongside a press screening at Lotte Cinema World Tower in Songpa-gu, Seoul. Attending the conference were director Lee Seung-hoon, Ha Seok-jin, Lee Shin-young, Dahyun, Lee Soon-won, and Yoon Seo-bin.
The movie 'Running Fast' is a running drama depicting a man running in the present and a man running in the future, focusing on their perfect ending through a sprint against time.
Despite being the fastest man in Korea, Gu-young (played by Ha Seok-jin) struggles to shorten his time by just 0.02 seconds in his dream of competing in the men's 100M at the World Athletics Championships. Actor Lee Shin-young plays Kang Seung-yeol, a high school student with faster feet than a soccer ball, portraying a rookie high school student who revels in the joy of running.
In addition, TWICE member and actress Dahyun plays Im Ji-eun, who makes Seung-yeol fall in love at first sight with her appearance of happiness while running, adding a unique charm to the film.
On that day, Dahyun spoke about her character, saying, "I thought of Ji-eun as a girl who feels happy when she runs. There was a scene where she collapses on the track while running and puts her hand on her chest and savors the moment."
She continued, "Although I was out of breath, I tried to express the happiness of feeling alive when I heard the sound of my heartbeat while running" and noted, "I aimed to convey Ji-eun's pride, excitement, and happiness."
In particular, Dahyun shared her past ankle injury experience, stating, "I had an ankle injury, so I could relate to Ji-eun, and it was reflected in my performance. I understood the frustration and sadness of things not going as intended."
She reminisced, saying, "At first, Ji-eun has no interest in Seung-yeol. She hadn't smiled until then, but she could only twitch her lips when it came to Seung-yeol, and I was so happy filming in school wearing a school uniform. It felt like I created memories laughing and chatting, resembling that time."
Meanwhile, the movie 'Running Fast' will be released exclusively at Lotte Cinema on the 10th.
