The 13th Busan International Comedy Festival (BICF) has prepared hilarious performances for the second week of its opening.
Opened on Aug. 29 (Fri.), the 13th Busan International Comedy Festival (hereinafter 'Bucofes') is providing laughter to numerous audiences while showcasing the essence of K-comedy. In addition to the opening performance, popular shows like 'Gag Concert,' 'Ahn Young-mi Show: Family-friendly (some) show,' 'Stand-up Assembly @ Bucofes,' and 'Seoul Comedy All-Stars 1st' have set sold-out records, proving it to be a representative comedy festival. With various side events such as 'Comedy Open Concert' and 'Comedy Seminar,' it presents high-quality performances worthy of being Asia's largest comedy festival. Here's a look at the performances scheduled for the second week until the 7th (Sun.).
#The meeting of comedy and literature, 'Comedy Book Concert'
The second 'Comedy Book Concert,' planned by the first generation of Korean comedy, Honorary Chairman Jeon Yu-seong of BICF, will take place tomorrow, Sept. 6 (Sat.) at 1 p.m. on the 2nd floor of Dongseo University (Centum) in the Design Idea Lab. This year, special time was arranged to spotlight comedians who have published books, inviting them to share their new aspects on stage. The cast, including Lee Hong-ryeol and Jeong Sun-hee, plans to engage in delightful conversations about the behind-the-scenes stories of books, where comedy meets literature, together with the audience. After the talk concert, signed copies of the books will be distributed through a lottery. This book concert, where audiences can experience the infinite talents of comedians up close, is expected to be a special time that conveys both emotion and sincerity beyond laughter.
#The essence of global comedy, 'MICF Roadshow in Busan'
The English stand-up comedy show 'MICF Roadshow in Busan,' born from a collaboration with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF), has returned this year following last year's success. With few opportunities to experience English stand-up comedy, this performance is set to take place at Adapter Theater 1. Following last year's premiere, which garnered unexpected enthusiasm and sold-out tickets, this year is expected to be a special stage where audiences can vividly experience the essence of global comedy.
#Candid and sophisticated banter, 'Seoul Comedy All-Stars 2nd'
Following the explosive response received last week with 'Seoul Comedy All-Stars 1st,' talented comedians including Kim Dong-ha, Danny Cho, Lee Je-kyu, Park Cheol-hyun, and Yeo Jun-young will present the stand-up comedy show 'Seoul Comedy All-Stars 2nd' tomorrow (6th) at the Busan Bank Main Auditorium. This stage, which captivates the audience with only a microphone and wit, targets laughter points with unrestrained honesty and a sophisticated sense of humor. As the slogan suggests, 'More than you can imagine,' it promises to deliver the essence of modern comedy that blends shock and twists.
#The power of theater comedy, 'Comedy Exchange'
The theater performance 'Comedy Exchange' will bring together popular comedy content creators and comedians active mainly on YouTube. Led by comedians Shin Yoon-seung and Park Min-seong, who operate the YouTube channel 'Comedians,' as well as 'Kkikik Comedy' (Jang Yoon-seok and Lim Jong-hyuk) with 2 million subscribers, and 'Lady Action' (Lim Seon-yang and Lim Seul-gi) with 600,000 subscribers, they are set to present a vibrant comedy performance tomorrow (7th) at the Busan Bank Main Auditorium. Expecting to provide the audience with unique fun through lively laughs, they will deliver a delightful and refreshing experience.
#Closing performance 'I am a dog singer,' a hybrid stage of laughter and emotion
Park Seong-ho, Kim Na-hee, the Ugly Three Brothers, Son Heon-soo, Wink, Kim Jae-rong, and Trot Youngies will decorate the finale with a hybrid stage 'I am a dog singer,' transitioning between comedy and music. The performers, who have excelled in both comedy and music, will come together to deliver songs and laughter simultaneously. The MC for the closing ceremony will be veteran comedian Lee Hong-ryeol, held at the Busan Cultural Center Grand Theater. The heartfelt stage they present, recognized as real singers, is expected to be an unforgettable 'legendary finale,' combining cheerfulness and emotion.
Tickets for the 13th 'Bucofes' performances are currently being sold enthusiastically through NOL Interpark Tickets and will take place throughout Busan until Sept. 7 (Sun.).
