'Goal Daring Her' has been embroiled in controversy over biased judging, with an investigation by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism planned. The production team spoke out three days after the controversy.
On the 5th, the team behind 'Goal Daring Her' told OSEN, "We have to conform to the broadcast scheduling time, so some parts are omitted."
The production team added, "However, omissions are made only to the extent that the flow of the game is not hindered, and we are working to conduct the game under fair rules and systems."
Earlier, on the 27th of last month, the G League final between FC Guchukjangsin and FC Wonder Woman was aired on 'Goal Daring Her.' On that day, Guchukjangsin took the lead 2-0 with goals from Lee Hae-jung and Kim Jin-kyung, and although Wonder Woman's Mashima scored a consolation goal, the game ended 2-1, securing Guchukjangsin's first league championship.
However, after the broadcast, viewers protested the referee's decisions, pointing out that the referee did not issue warnings for foul-level infractions by Guchukjangsin. This was considered biased judging.
In addition, according to the match record published by the 'Goal Daring Her' team after the broadcast, Mashima received a warning in the 12th minute of the second half, but since that part was not aired, there were reactions questioning whether the warning was justifiable.
As a result, some raised suspicions that the winning team was predetermined, along with claims that the biased judgments leaned toward Guchukjangsin constituted match-fixing.
Ultimately, an internet user formally reported the judging controversy to the Korea Sport Ethics Center (K-SEC), stating that "significant doubt about the fairness of judging and rule application was raised regarding the 'Goal Daring Her' G League final (aired on August 27). In particular, the scene of the warning recorded in the match documents for the 12th minute of the second half was not revealed in either the live broadcast or the official YouTube full version, and the rules applied were not disclosed in an integrated manner, making it difficult to verify the basis of the judging post facto, which was pointed out as the core issue."
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is reported to have referred the complaint to the Korea Sport Ethics Center (K-SEC). While it is said that a formal investigation has not yet started, the mere referral of the complaint has drawn attention.
