Singer Kim Jung-min revealed his goose father lifestyle.
In the first broadcast of tvN STORY 'Goose Couple' on 4th, singer Kim Jung-min and his spouse Rumiko appeared. They have been married for 20 years but have already been living separately for 2 years.
Kim Jung-min said, "In fact, this is not the marriage life I dreamed of. I never thought about being a goose father." Rumiko explained, "Our first son and second son are good at soccer, so they got to play in Japan. That's why we went to Japan. This is how our goose father lifestyle began."
First son Taeyang and second son Doyun were active as soccer players. Rumiko and the children were staying in Saga, Japan, while Kim Jung-min was living in Seoul, Korea. He wakes up in the morning, cleans, and works out with 700 squats, 350 push-ups, and finishes with cardio.
Kim Jung-min noted, "I finish with cardio. I will soon be celebrating my sixtieth birthday. I need to be healthy to take care of my youngest child," revealing that his love for his family was the secret to maintaining his youthful appearance.
Kim Jung-min shared, "I think about my family in Japan 24 hours a day. I'm curious whether they think about me or if it's just my one-sided love."
Rumiko got up early and cooked breakfast with the youngest. The first and second sons were living in a dorm because of soccer commitments. Today was game day for the second son Doyun. Rumiko went to watch Doyun's game with the youngest, Damyul. Kim Jung-min watched his son's game through a video call.
However, Doyun had to leave the game just 5 minutes in due to heatstroke. Kim Jung-min expressed concern, saying, "I get surprised when I hear from Rumiko. I want to rush over immediately, but I don't know how seriously he's hurt, so that worries me." After the game, Doyun said, "I had heatstroke. It's really embarrassing to have gotten heatstroke in just 5 minutes," but Rumiko firmly stated, "The opposing team is the same. You have to overcome it."
Rumiko said, "Dad is not here. Since we are apart, I sometimes speak sternly to prevent the kids from becoming too spoiled, fearing it might weaken them."
Although Dad is not here, the children have learned to help and love their mother as strong as the time when Dad was present. Rumiko remarked, "Doyun is affectionate, and plays a daughter-like role. The first son, Taeyang, acts like a director. He resembles Dad. Dad used to nag a lot, and Taeyang seems to take after him."
Doyun commented, "I heard that raising a child costs over 200 million won. Since I play soccer, it will cost double, right? I'll repay my mom tenfold as a soccer player," while helping with her cooking. Rumiko expressed her emotions, saying, "I was almost in tears. I realized how much he has grown to think that way."
The family also showed warmth by video calling Dad and cheerfully saying, "Thanks to Dad, we could come to Japan," and "Thanks to Dad, we can be here like this."
