The most frequent guest singer 10CM, Kwon Jeong-yeol, has taken the MC microphone for The Seasons. Kwon stated he will fill 'Petting' abundantly with a sense of responsibility and mission, following Park Bo-gum's Cantabile.
The production presentation for KBS 2TV's late-night music talk show The Seasons - 10MC's Petting was held on the 5th from 2 p.m. at the KBS Art Hall in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by Kwon Jeong-yeol from 10CM, along with MeloMance's Jung Dong-hwan and the production team.
10CM has created numerous hit songs such as 'Hug Me', 'Petting', 'Is Spring Nice?', 'Concert', and 'Gradient', and is considered the top choice for performance bookings at various music festivals.
Kwon Jeong-yeol is expected to lead the program with his musical skills and stage experience accumulated over many years, along with his witty remarks proven through various broadcasts and content. He intends to fill the show with a warm atmosphere, 'petting' everyone's hearts.
Initially, Kwon Jeong-yeol remarked about taking over the new season of The Seasons following actor Park Bo-gum, stating, "I feel weak in every aspect compared to Park Bo-gum." He added, "However, I have had a very long familiarity with KBS's late-night music programs. If there is an advantage, it is that as a current musician, I might be able to 'pet' the guest singers' hearts."
Kwon Jeong-yeol continued, "Park Bo-gum is an actor but is musically rich, which I really admired. Since I have my own musical color, I look forward to collaborating on unique music and conducting interviews and stage productions through my own musical interpretation."
In the first recording held on the afternoon of the 2nd, Kwon Jeong-yeol expressed his thoughts, stating, "As I prepared for the first episode after being suggested as the 8th MC of The Seasons, I kept wondering, 'Why did you choose me?' and 'Why after Park Bo-gum?'" He said, "As I thought about it, this stage is special, yet it's the most anxious, tense, and scary stage. I believe I can be an MC who understands and resonates closely with the feelings of artists better than anyone else because I am the most frequent guest."
Kwon Jeong-yeol is also the most frequent guest of The Seasons. From being a frequent guest to now an MC, he has the opportunity to meet various fellow artists. Kwon emphasized, "Despite often performing on stage, it is still the most nerve-wracking and frightening stage." He stated, "It was the same when I was a guest, but I think it will be even more so as a host, making it a very burdensome and frightening position. I am approaching this role with a sense of responsibility and mission, thanks to the support of the production team and fans."
Jung Dong-hwan from MeloMance, who will work with new MC Kwon Jeong-yeol, also expressed his expectations. Jung noted about Kwon Jeong-yeol, "He has always been a cool senior who captivates the audience on stage, and seeing him nervous made me feel that he is really nervous. I look forward to how he will elegantly finish this." He added, "Watching how he takes care of the artists made me feel that 'experience cannot be faked.'"
Producing director Choi Seung-hee explained about selecting Kwon Jeong-yeol as the new MC, saying, "The MC for a music talk show should naturally be a musician who is well-known to the public and recognized musically. Kwon Jeong-yeol was the first name that came to mind." Choi expressed gratitude, stating, "I am thankful that he accepted our proposal and actively contributed not only during the recording but also in prior promotions."
Kwon Jeong-yeol also shared his aspirations as an MC. He mentioned that he would like to invite musicians Jung Bum-june and Lee Moon-sae to 'Petting'. Kwon expressed, "I really want to have Jung Bum-june on the show. He is someone I have a good relationship with and a musician I really like and respect, but we have never worked together on broadcast." He added, "I would love to have all the past MCs on, especially I hope to have senior Lee Moon-sae join us on stage at least once."
The Seasons introduces the first-ever seasonal MC format for KBS's late-night music program, serving as a musical bridge between musicians and viewers. Singers Jay Park, Jeong Hoon of Jannabi, AKMU, Lee Hyori, Zico, Lee Young-ji, and Park Bo-gum have held the role, and now 10CM is taking on the role under the title '10CM's Petting'.
'10CM's Petting', which is starting anew, will air for the first time today at 10 p.m.
