Singer Kim Jong-kook is finally joining the ranks of married men.
Kim Jong-kook will hold a wedding ceremony today (5th) in Seoul with his non-celebrity fiancée, welcoming a lifelong partner. It appears that members and producers of SBS' 'Running Man' will all attend the wedding. Since Kim Jong-kook has been a member of 'Running Man' for 16 years, it is expected that members and producers will show their loyalty.
The wedding will be held quietly with only family and close friends invited. The ceremony will be hosted by his close friend Yoo Jae-suk. Kim Jong-kook personally conveyed the news of his marriage during filming for SBS' 'Running Man' last month and asked Yoo Jae-suk to host the ceremony. Yoo Jae-suk agreed to the request and adjusted his schedule for the day.
Earlier, Kim Jong-kook revealed in a handwritten letter posted on his fan cafe, "I prepared to write a letter like this one day, but now that I am actually writing it, I feel very nervous and anxious. I am getting married. The ceremony will be held quietly on a small scale."
The fiancée's identity is shrouded in mystery. Various speculations circulating online suggest she is a "38-year-old beauty startup CEO residing in LA" or "the daughter of a 20-year-old English teacher and an employee of a large company's overseas sales team"; however, Kim Jong-kook's side stated, "There is nothing we can officially disclose. It is a private matter, and we do not know specific details."
There will be no immediate honeymoon after the wedding due to previously scheduled broadcasts and fixed program commitments. An agency representative explained, "It is difficult to go on a honeymoon right away. No plans have been set for afterward."
Kim Jong-kook's new home is expected to be the luxury villa he recently purchased in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. It is reported that he bought the villa for approximately 6.2 billion won in cash last April, and it is known to be the residence of actors Jang Geun-suk and Lee Yo-won, featuring top-notch community facilities such as a fitness center, theater, and banquet hall.
Meanwhile, Kim Jong-kook is actively participating in several entertainment programs, including SBS' 'Running Man', 'My Little Old Boy', and KBS2's 'Problem Child in House'.
