Kim Goeun from 'You and Everything Else' shed tears while recalling the filming.
On the morning of the 5th, a press conference for Netflix's 'You and Everything Else' was held at the Ambassador Full Moon Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, where Park Ji-hyun, who plays Sang-yeon in her 40s, explained the story by saying, "Sang-yeon asks Eunjung to accompany her for assisted death, facing death."
At this, Kim Goeun was overcome with emotion and recalled, "That's my tear button. That's why it's a precious work. I thought, how can I let her go? I thought I wanted to send her off well."
Park Ji-hyun said, "Asking someone to accompany her to death is a selfish and brazen act. However, the person who wanted to be forgiven before facing death was Eunjung, and Sang-yeon has no one left. I thought a lot about life and death."
He then revealed, "I studied by watching various books and documentaries. I wondered if I could express it since I hadn't personally experienced it, and the director and Kim Goeun helped me a lot. I tried to immerse myself in the role as much as possible through indirect experiences. Since Kim Goeun existed in front as Eunjung, I was able to immerse myself well and finish the performance."
Kim Goeun also recalled, "I was grateful that Sang-yeon was played by Park Ji-hyun. I can't express the sense of security in words. The writer said it could be the story of those who remain. When I decided to accompany her, I thought a lot about the me that remained after that. It was an opportunity for Eunjung as well. It was a chance to send her off as Eunjung. I thought the most about how to send off a precious person."
'You and Everything Else' is a Netflix series that depicts the intertwined lives of two friends, Eunjung (played by Kim Goeun) and Sang-yeon (played by Park Ji-hyun), who love and envy each other deeply, as well as hate each other throughout their lives. It is set to be released on Netflix on the 12th.
