Actress Lee Soo-kyung is considering appearing in "John Bur Doctor."
On the 5th, a representative from Lee Soo-kyung's agency, Baro Entertainment, stated to OSEN that they are "currently reviewing it positively" regarding the news of her potential role in the new ENA drama "John Bur Doctor," which was raised that afternoon.
"John Bur Doctor" is a drama adapted from the popular webtoon of the same name that has been serialized on KakaoPage since February 2022. The story depicts a plastic surgeon, Do Ji-yi, serving as a public health physician on the hellish island of Byeongdong-do, who meets various patients and residents over the course of a year. Director Lee Myung-woo, known for his acclaimed dramas such as "Punch," "The Fiery Priest," and "Boys' Generation," is helming the project, raising expectations.
In the midst of this, Lee Soo-kyung has been offered the role of nurse Eom Jeong-seon, a local from Byeongdong-do. Recently, he received praise for his role as Boo Hyun-sook, the daughter of Beo Sang-gil (Choi Dae-hoon) and Park Young-ran (Jang Hye-jin), in the Netflix original "When Life Gives You Tangerines." It is anticipated whether he will choose "John Bur Doctor" as his next project and show a new side.
Before Lee Soo-kyung, actors Lee Jae-wook, Shin Ye Eun, and Hong Min-ki have been mentioned for potential appearances in "John Bur Doctor." It is set to air in 2026.
