Actor Ko Hyun-jung expressed her thoughts on returning to SBS with The Mantis: Original Sin after the issue of her mid-episode departure from Return.
On the afternoon of the 4th, a production presentation for the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "The Mantis: Original Sin" was held. The presentation was attended by director Byun Young-joo, actors Ko Hyun-jung, Jang Dong-yoon, Jo Seong-ha, and Lee El.
The Mantis: Original Sin is a high-density crime thriller that takes place 20 years after the brutal serial killer "The Mantis" was captured, when copycat crimes occur, and a detective, who has hated "The Mantis"—his mother—his whole life, engages in an unexpected collaborative investigation to solve the case.
Earlier, Ko Hyun-jung left Return in 2018 due to conflicts with the production team and was surrounded by various rumors. When asked about her feelings about returning to SBS after seven years, she noted, "That kind of thing happened."
She continued, "In fact, this place in Mokdong, SBS, reminds me of many past works, and I have many memories from when I was doing other things too. It's been a long time since I came back to Mokdong, SBS, and perhaps because of my age, those memories came to mind. I thought, 'This was a very intense place.'"
She added, "I didn't think I would come back to SBS after such a long time. I greet you all through a work after a long time. But I want to say that I am happy and pleased that the work is The Mantis."
Meanwhile, The Mantis: Original Sin will premiere on the 5th at 9:50 p.m.
