Actor Jin Tae-hyun (43) shared his recent status after undergoing surgery for thyroid cancer.
On the 3rd, Jin Tae-hyun posted on his social media (SNS), "I am training for the marathon again with great enthusiasm," adding, "My body hasn't fully recovered yet, so it's a bit challenging, but I am doing my best to recall the best times and recover."
He noted that achieving his goal of completing the marathon 'single' (within 3 hours and 10 minutes) this year seems difficult. He stated, "Perhaps due to the surgery where half of my organs were removed, the recovery is slow," and added, "It's tough and challenging, but I will still train hard."
He also expressed regret about the unexpected situation. Jin Tae-hyun mentioned, "I was frustrated that everything had to stop right when my body was starting to feel well due to the sudden surgery. However, as time passed, I think it was necessary to stop. I am grateful now."
Earlier, Jin Tae-hyun revealed his diagnosis of thyroid cancer in May. After that, he suspended all broadcasting activities and underwent surgery on June 24. Two weeks after the surgery, he reported, "All cancer cells have been removed. Thyroid levels and vocal cord function are also normal."
Jin Tae-hyun married actress Park Si-eun in 2015 and adopted a college student, Park Da-bi-da, in 2019. Earlier this year, he stated that they welcomed two additional daughters. One is an elite marathon athlete affiliated with the Gyeonggi Province Office, and the other is preparing to be a nurse in Jeju.
