The global hit song 'Malatanghuru' by singer and creator Seiv is being reborn.
Seiv will release the single 'Say Yes (Malatanghuru Ver.2)' featuring Taiwanese singer and actor Lee Ok-sae on the 5th.
'Say Yes' is a song that was born out of a love for malatang and tanghulu, based on Seiv's mega hit song 'Malatanghuru.' It has been arranged as a romantic disco love song full of K-pop style retro sentiment, combining three languages: Chinese, Taiwanese, and Korean.
In particular, this new song is gaining more attention due to its special collaboration with Taiwanese singer and actor Lee Ok-sae, who is referred to as a 'creative genius.' It was planned as a continuation of the dance challenge where the two danced together in school uniforms during the release of 'Malatanghuru,' and is being evaluated as a new K-pop collaboration model linking Korea and Taiwan.
Last month, the two held a press conference in Taiwan to introduce the background of this collaboration, revealing their youthful anecdotes in the studio during the song's creation and recording, capturing the intense interest of local media. At that time, Seiv noted, "I have respected Lee Ok-sae for a long time through the movie 'Girls' Generation.' It's an honor to be able to work with such a wonderful senior."
Lee Ok-sae explained about 'Say Yes,' saying, "Although reinterpretation was not easy, I naturally resolved it by incorporating retro disco sentiment and the keyword 'night market.'" In response, Seiv expressed her happiness, saying, "It's amazing that my song has transformed like this. Lee Ok-sae is truly a genius."
Through 'Say Yes,' Seiv also challenged herself to sing in Chinese and Taiwanese. Seiv said, "I was able to finish the recording naturally with intensive pronunciation guidance from the Taiwanese management team on-site," while Lee Ok-sae praised, "I was surprised that she was able to speak the unfamiliar language so accurately."
Previously, Seiv announced her official debut in Japan with the release of her first Japanese single 'Super Girl (feat. Choco)' on the 22nd of last month. She is expected to further expand her musical world through 'Say Yes,' bringing another 'hot' craze to the world.
The new single 'Say Yes,' where you can check out the fantastic chemistry between Seiv and Lee Ok-sae, will be released on the 5th at 1 a.m. (KST) on major music platforms worldwide, and the music video filmed in Taiwan will be revealed at 3 p.m. on the same day.
