HYBE and Geffen Records' global girl group KATSEYE is continuing its unstoppable rise in popularity. They placed two songs on the U.S. Billboard main song chart simultaneously and broke their own highest ranking for three consecutive weeks.
According to the latest Billboard chart released on Sept. 3, KATSEYE (Daniela, Lara, Manon, Megan, Sophia, Yoonchae)'s second EP "Beautiful Chaos" includes the track "Gabriela," which ranked 63rd on the Hot 100.
Previously, this song entered the Hot 100 at 94th (July 5) and moved to 87th (July 12) and 95th (July 19) before catching its breath briefly, then significantly rose to 76th (August 23) after about a month. Last week, it ranked 72nd, proving that it was not just a one-time rebound, and jumped an impressive 9 spots this week, demonstrating strong momentum.
Another track, "Gnarly," which was pre-released as a digital single on April 30, is also gaining popularity and making a comeback on the charts. "Gnarly," praised for its bold performances from the six members and experimental sound, peaked at 90th on the Hot 100 (June 21) and successfully re-entered the Hot 100 this week at 98th.
It is unusual for a song more than four months after release to have this trend. The buzz from performances at 'Lollapalooza Chicago' and 'Summer Sonic 2025,' along with KATSEYE's appearance in the GAP advertising campaign, seems to have ignited their popularity.
KATSEYE is also showing strength on the album charts. Their EP "Beautiful Chaos," which includes "Gabriela" and "Gnarly," has five tracks in total and is placed 45th on the main album chart, the Billboard 200. This marks an 8-spot increase from the previous week and makes it their ninth consecutive week on the chart. In the Top Album Sales, they are at 20th, and 18th in the Top Current Album Sales chart, maintaining a high ranking.
KATSEYE is a group realizing the "globalization of the K-pop system" led by Bang Si-hyuk of HYBE. They were finally selected through the global audition project "Dream Academy," which attracted 120,000 applicants worldwide, and debuted in the U.S. in June last year based on the T&D (Training & Development) system of HYBE America.
Their global activities continue. KATSEYE is scheduled to perform at the pre-show stage of the "2025 MTV Video Music Awards," one of the four major popular music awards in the U.S., on the 7th, and they are nominated in two categories: "Best Group" and "PUSH Performance of the Year." In November, they will embark on their first solo North American tour, with all of the tour's tickets already sold out.
