SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Would You Merry Me' features Choi Woo-shik transforming into the 4th generation heir of Korea's first confectionery.
The new Friday-Saturday drama 'Would You Merry Me' (directed by Song Hyun-wook and Hwang In-hyuk, written by Lee Ha-na), which will first air in October, is a sweet and thrilling 90-day fake honeymoon between a man and a woman trying to secure a luxurious newlywed house as a prize. It is raising expectations as it is expected to showcase the romantic synergy between reliable actor Choi Woo-shik and undefeated romantic comedy star Jung So-min.
Choi Woo-shik takes on the role of Kim Woo-joo, the 4th generation heir of Myungsundang, the first confectionery in Korea with an 80-year tradition, and a promising Head of Team in marketing, displaying a new side of himself. Born with a 'gold spoon,' Kim Woo-joo is portrayed as the perfect successor with no shortcomings, entangled in a business relationship with the representative of the partner company 'Merry Design,' Yu Merry (played by Jung So-min), and unexpectedly becoming a fake husband in a comical twist.
In the meantime, on the 4th (Thursday), 'Would You Merry Me' revealed its first stills of Choi Woo-shik, raising expectations. Choi Woo-shik draws attention as he portrays Kim Woo-joo, the 4th generation heir of Myungsundang, with a flawless gaze. The released photos capture Kim Woo-joo's appearance as he returns to Korea for rigorous successor training, as well as his composed demeanor showcasing his cold judgment after being appointed as the Head of Team in marketing at Myungsundang, generating excitement about Choi Woo-shik's portrayal of Kim Woo-joo.
Initially, Kim Woo-joo was spotted waiting to board a flight at the airport. After a long stay overseas, one would expect excitement about returning home, yet his expression reflects inner turmoil. Additionally, his chic expression and sharp gaze reveal Kim Woo-joo's cold side.
In the following stills, Kim Woo-joo is seen conducting a meeting as the Head of Team in marketing at Myungsundang. True to his abilities recognized even in the U.S., he exudes a sense of competence as soon as he is appointed as the Head of Team in marketing. With his sleeves rolled up, he focuses on the meeting with his team members, clearly emanating the aroma of an outstanding Head of Team.
Thus, Choi Woo-shik is garnering attention as he showcases a new side of himself, embodying the charm of a perfect adult male rather than the sunny allure seen in various romantic comedy works. As expectations rise for Choi Woo-shik's completed transformation into the rational and thorough 4th generation heir, Kim Woo-joo, curiosity is also piqued about how he becomes Yu Merry's fake husband despite seemingly accepting no flaws.
'Would You Merry Me' production staff noted, 'You will be able to see Choi Woo-shik's new side through 'Would You Merry Me,' and we hope you will look forward to the irresistible charm of a gold spoon that Choi Woo-shik will showcase, as well as great expectations for 'Would You Merry Me.'
Meanwhile, 'Would You Merry Me' is set to premiere on SBS in October.
