A music video by the group BTS has become the first to reach 2 billion views.
The music video for the digital single 'Dynamite,' which was simultaneously released worldwide on HYBE (Chairman Bang Si-hyuk) Labels' YouTube channel on Aug. 21, 2020, surpassed 2 billion views around 9:16 a.m. on the 4th. Thus, 'Dynamite' has established another golden tower as the first BTS music video to reach the 2 billion view milestone, adding 100 million views in about nine months after hitting 1.9 billion views on Dec. 19 last year.
'Dynamite' is a healing song in the bright and cheerful disco pop genre, marking the first English track presented by BTS. The music video features a catchy rhythm along with a joyful and dynamic performance. Produced with a vibrant concept, it showcases the enjoyment of music in a relaxing manner, harmonizing with energetic choreography.
'Dynamite' recently ranked 34th on the list of 'the most played songs globally over the past decade' announced by Apple Music. This track, along with 'Butter,' is the only song by a K-pop group to appear on that chart, further proving BTS's influence.
BTS set a monumental milestone with 'Dynamite.' With this song, they became the first Korean artist to reach number one on the U.S. Billboard Main Song Chart 'Hot 100,' maintaining the top position for a total of three weeks. Additionally, they won 'Best Song' at the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards and 'Top Selling Song' at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. They achieved remarkable results, including the fastest streaming diamond certification (over 500 million) from the Japan Record Association.
