The character posters of actors Kim Woo-bin and Suzy from 'Genie, Make A Wish' have been released.
On the 4th, the team behind the Netflix series 'Genie, Make A Wish' (written by Kim Eun-sook, directed by Ahn Gil-ho) revealed character posters of Kim Woo-bin and Suzy.
'Genie, Make A Wish' is a stress-free fantasy romantic comedy where Genie (played by Kim Woo-bin), a lamp spirit who awakens after a thousand years, meets the emotionally detached human, Ga-young (played by Suzy), and engages in a three-wish game. The clueless Genie and Ga-young, who lacks emotional understanding, promise an unpredictable story as they enter into a risky wish competition.
In the teaser trailer that was unveiled earlier, the mysterious relationship between the Satan Genie and his new master, Ga-young, has sparked viewers' imaginations. The character poster released on that day also adds to the intrigue of their unpredictable narrative. The lamp spirit, surrounded by brilliant gold light, catches the eye with a playful and charming smile, seemingly trying to lure someone in. The phrase written above, "Humans eventually corrupt," reveals the Satan's twisted belief about humanity. Additionally, the hourglass that has risen at his gesture raises curiosity about its meaning.
Meanwhile, the psychopathic master Ga-young also captures attention with her unique visuals. Wearing a beautiful and sparkly dress while smiling, her expression has a certain coldness. With arms filled with scars and holding a drill as if ready to pierce the lamp, she presents a formidable appearance. The phrase, "I'm the only bad one in the world," generates interest in the wish game between Genie and Ga-young.
The character video released alongside adds laughter with the exhilarating back-and-forth between Genie and Ga-young. The Satan Genie, who is the lamp spirit created from unearned wealth and referred to as the leader among them, awakens in the Dubai desert with a plan to prove how corrupt humans can get, appearing before Ga-young. Despite the threatening remark from Genie, "I won't bow down to someone like you made of dirt; I will definitely corrupt you and kill you," Ga-young retorts with, "Get lost, go to a barbershop." With Ga-young, who is one step ahead of Satan Genie, there is high anticipation for their chemistry.
The strange and beautiful psychopathic Ga-young immediately figures out the plan of the 'bad Genie' who seeks to enchant humans. She is an emotionally detached character who lives according to the 'rules' she has built with her grandmother and her unique 'routine.' Can the Satan Genie, who aims to corrupt humanity, ruin Ga-young's life that is woven with 'rules' and 'routines'? It piques curiosity whether these two characters, who clash like a spear and shield, can progress from 'antagonism' to 'romance.'
The stills released show intriguing scenes of Genie and Ga-young. Genie appears in a cabbage field in Korea instead of Dubai's sandy desert. Following Ga-young from Dubai to Korea, Genie surprises people with his tall figure emerging among the cabbages. His cheerful smile as he greets them brings laughter.
Meanwhile, Ga-young, captured on the streets of Dubai, captivates attention with a stunning style. Her bold floral patterns and colors, noticeable anywhere, further enhance Ga-young's visuals. Lacking emotions, she pays no mind to people's gazes, moving gracefully with an elegant and upright posture. Even a single frame from Genie and Ga-young exudes a unique atmosphere, already causing excitement about the story they will build together.
'Genie, Make A Wish' will be globally released on Netflix on Oct. 3.
