The group Stray Kids has dominated the latest Billboard charts, including a seventh consecutive No. 1 on the 'Billboard 200,' showcasing the prowess of K-pop champions.
According to the official announcement from Billboard on 3rd (local time), Stray Kids marked their place in 16 categories on the Billboard charts with their fourth studio album 'KARMA' and the title track 'CEREMONY,' released on August 22.
Stray Kids recorded their highest first-week sales in the U.S., reaching 313,000 copies, and topped the main album chart 'Billboard 200' for the seventh time. They are the only K-pop artist to reach No. 1 on the 'Billboard 200' this year and have set a record with their seven total No. 1s. Particularly, this is significant as Stray Kids is the first in the world to have seven consecutive albums enter the top spot since the 'Billboard 200' began in March 1956.
'CEREMONY' debuted at No. 52 on the 'Hot 100,' a measure of popularity in the U.S. music market, marking its fourth rank. Stray Kids also reached the top of another main chart, 'Artist 100,' simultaneously conquering the 'Billboard 200' and 'Artist 100' sectors for the sixth time following 'ODDINARY,' 'MAXIDENT,' '★★★★★ (5-STAR),' 'ATE,' and 'SKZHOP HIPTAPE' 合 (HOP).
Additionally, they dominated categories such as 'Top Album Sales,' 'Top Current Album Sales,' 'World Album,' 'World Digital Song Sales,' and 'Dance Digital Song Sales.' They also achieved No. 8 on the 'Billboard Global (excluding the U.S.)' and No. 10 on the 'Billboard Global 200,' while setting the record as the first K-pop group to enter the newly launched 'Top Streaming Albums' chart in October 2023.
Stray Kids, who made history in the pop stronghold of the U.S., conveyed through their agency JYP Entertainment, "We believe this glorious record gifted by STAY (fan club name: STAY) will be remembered for a long time. STAY always makes us shine brighter. We will become a shining artist as much as you have made us shine. We will continue to share good energy with the world and strive to repay through music and performances without holding back on challenges. Thank you very much."
Stray Kids made their presence felt on the Billboard Boxscore 'Top Tours' chart with their unprecedented world tour '< dominATE >' that concluded in Rome last July. In the June chart, where 10 stadium performances were held in eight regions of North America, they ranked seventh, following Beyoncé, The Weeknd, and Metallica, marking the highest rank for K-pop. In the July chart, where stadium performances were held in all six regions of Europe, they achieved fifth, the highest for K-pop.
