Actor Lee Soo-hyuk was reported to have been overworked due to unreasonable demands from the organizers during a fan meeting in China, and his agency has belatedly revealed its position.
On the 3rd, Lee Soo-hyuk's agency, People Entertainment, posted an official statement on social media saying, "First of all, we would like to express our deep gratitude to the fans who showed great interest in 'Lee Soo-hyuk 1st Fanmeeting in Hangzhou'."
Previously, on the 30th of last month, the 'Lee Soo-hyuk 1st Fanmeeting in Hangzhou' held in Hangzhou, China, attracted significant attention, selling out all tickets in just two minutes after the ticket sales opened.
However, reports from Taiwan's EBC revealed that at the venue, the organizers excessively sold tickets, causing Lee Soo-hyuk to sign for nearly 12 hours for thousands of fans.
In response, fans strongly protested, stating, "The organizers overworked the artist," and called for the protection of the actor's health and safety.
In response, the agency said, "We deeply regret the unexpected situations that occurred during the event" and added, "We will do our best to move in a better direction due to this matter."
They also stated, "Above all, we hope that the heartfelt efforts of the artist who did their best under the given circumstances and the love from the fans who supported the artist will not lose their meaning, and we hope that this meeting, which took place after ten years, will remain a precious memory for everyone."
As the fan meeting held after ten years became tainted by controversy over overwork, there is growing concern among fans that "we hope such incidents do not happen again."
